Went shopping today at the local coin store in south Florida and picked up a couple of nice Sovereigns. What do you guys think?

Nice - did you manage to get good prices on them? Is there any particular stores you'd recommend on Hatton Garden? I practically work on the next street, but whenever I wander over all I see is expensive looking stores filled with jewellery which always scared me off a bit!

As ChrisSilver mentioned, Abbotsilvercoins has them. I noticed he mentioned having them on his stack picture so I asked if he was selling. I'm sure he has some more. A good price as well:-)

What are prices like for sovereigns over in the states? Whenever I've seen sovereigns for sale on foreign websites or overseas they seem expensive.

Less popular than the UK naturally. Can be slightly more expensive though not necessarily so. I think that there is less demand in the USA which can mean prices are less than UK. Also I have a feeling there may be more higher grade coins around the USA.

It's in pretty good condition as are most of these, as it was rare for these coins to be used in circulation.

Well here it is. She's not in brilliant nick but I'm reasonably happy it's genuine. Still have a nagging doubt but I've seen too many 1887 fakes. Anyway for 3% above spot and definitely 22ct, who can complain?

Thanks to Highland Tiger for these lovely half Sovereigns that I bought in his recent gold for car sale.

Also this was waiting and I am very pleased with it.

Not many of these minted and it weighs about 1/2oz
