Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

I have a few proofs with marks on, maybe I will try this with a half sovereign I only paid bullion price for and see how it turns out

Do you just dip it in the soapy water then some clean water? or do you leave it in the soapy water for a bit

Thanks

I squirt washing up liquid directly onto the coin and then rub it in gently with my thumb.  Then rise it under a running tap while gently rubbing again.  Finally I hold the coin by the edge and blow it with compressed air to remove the water.

A slight improvement on this would be a final rinse in distilled or deionised water before drying. Certainly worth it in hard water areas.

Mrs Numistacker received some pickups in the USA on my behalf .. Glad to see the post office took care of things and kept them safe while I was gone.

6% over spot + postage from Chards.  I was expecting an opened/used one and was surprised when it came sealed.  I was hoping to put it into a capsule with the rest but now I'm undecided.

Decided to crack it open but in order to remove the coin, the inside sleeve had to be damaged.

Received my 6 coin set from Arshi today (thanks Arshi). First one of this type I've seen and my initial thoughts are confirmed: the 1/20th is too small to be a coin and the 1/40th is just plain ridiculous.

Like the Britannia side but the queen looks old

I think her first portrait was very nice, if I were her I would of just said never mind updating making me look old, just have me at my best forever.
