How can you make such a definite statement. 
you joined the forum since things got hectic (2 weeks ago) Since prices have started to spike. 
 
i am a new member too. When I joined you could easily find loads of stuff at spot (seldom under spot but you shure have to be extremly quick). Since 3 weeks things got a bit more complicated as supply and demand are shifting. 
 
IMHO you should always think twice before making definite statements. 
 
sorry but from my point of view, no promotional thing about the fact that the forum is the best place to buy.

There seem to be good deals in the trade section, if they were not good in comparison to current market prices then there wouldn’t be so many deals that complete well within the 3 day limit where they are shown only to Premium Members.
Some may prefer buying from trusted forum members as willing to pay slightly more to know the condition of the coin is good, and there are also a lot of collectors who are looking for a specific coin which may be hard to find elsewhere.

Isually you will find a mixture of 
spot gold 
collector pieces at above spot price (but overall the cheapest). 
 
and as a matter of rule you can always PM a member and make a courteous offer. 
if he agrees on terms... it’s yours.

Yes I have noticed forum has worse prices. Seems to be more of a promotion thing then a reality.

I always thinks PM is for buying and holding, and only to be sold in extreme financial circumstances when you really need the money whether that is personal, national, or global. 
If you were in a situation where you needed to sell to keep the lights on etc then gold has done you proud as you may have wasted away that money on other things. The good thing about buying PM is even if it falls in value it is an easy source of money when you need it and it stops you spending that money on other things. So dont feel annoyed with yourself.

In essence you can buy gold and silver from Bairds. Prices are very competitive. You don’t pay VAT on gold in the UK.
silver bars are very well priced at the moment due to the premium hikes seen with other dealers. 

I think you all need a day off. Why are you all arguing over different deals. Get a grip. 
If you don't want to buy it then you don't buy it. lol

Just received 10- 1/10th oz gold eagles at spot price which I ordered from Nationwide coin and Bullion reserve. Wanted to wait to receive before recommending. They came in yesterday and were perfect. Highly recommend. Their site says 10-15 day shipping but mine came within 5 days of ordering. They have a limit of 10 coins and for first time buyers only. Check it out

I like some of those questions, but it's getting late...
After someone on TSF mentioned Gold and Silver Bureau a few days ago, I found myself reading a Q&A page I started on 24carat.co.uk way back in 1998. I found myself laughing at some of the slightly less than respectful answers I was giving, but these were not necessarily the exact same answers we actually provided. I also found numerous typo's, some of which I started correcting before it got late, I got tired, packed in and went to bed.

I think wonger is a good sport but IMHO he has a point re gold & silver. I am personally neutral on both because I'm a collector not a stacker & don't worry about spot prices.
But re this Coronavirus hysteria it has shown what your average punter in the street is interested in & its not gold or silver its toilet rolls & food & cheap pharma (paracetamols aspirin etc).
When this thing blows over the majority of people in the western world will be in the s--t re their jobs housing etc, most are in the s--t the 1st week they don't get paid. So I do not think there will be a rush to buy gold or silver. I may well be wrong but there is always two sides to a coin so to speak.
I'm more surprised that gold in particular is not way higher than it is now with stock markets all over the world down sharply & miners shutting up shop. Personally with this corona farce I would have expected gold to be over $2000 per oz.
