A little light relief, and some on here will have heard about this & there are new people who haven’t. But this thread has a wide readership at the moment
this week, the Mint is auctioning a fine example of the earliest sovereign that can be in private hands
The sovereign, one of just two in private hands, is Henry VII and is likely to be over $1m
details are here. https://www.coinnews.net/2021/02/12/royal-mint-to-auction-ngc-certified-henry-vii-sovereign-on-march-4/
it’s graded, documented, cared for & about to find a new home on Thursday.
I am sure some will find it interesting
There is no ‘buy now’ price 🙂

I have been waiting for something to swap out my Una with, Thanks
-
It was £1231 at 1am and I bought an Una bar.
The RM live gold price ticker was 10 points higher at that point. How are we supposed to trust these people ???

Great summary. Sounds like a few people think there will be a price bubble around these coins, Una & Graces. Certainly has ingredients of frenzy buying, a very narrow & not transparent market ( eBay ) & the low intrinsic cost of the ingredient
not everyone can make ££ on every sale. Someone will be left holding the bag. I think it depends on how many of the initial allocation end up with long term collectors or holders. If it’s a narrow market then prices wil be high & the well graded ones especially. As we see in the auctions the 70s across almost any coin genre have a significant premium.
great summaryc
Thank you

Can I ask, what's the buzz about the Three Graces coin?
I've followed the forums for a little while and find it fascinating that certain coins create such a thrill.
Can anybody explain, in layman's terms, what it is?
Thanks in advance,
BullionMole
The RM decided to launch a new series of coins called The Great Engravers to commemorate engravers of coins from past years. The first coin launched 2020 was Una and the Lion. They were not launched in massive numbers I think the 2oz silver was 3000 and the gold around 225.
When they were released they were in fact beautiful but the numbers caused a slight problem as every collector wanted one. You have 2 types of buyers, true collectors and flippers. For the flippers this was an ideal situation as numbers of coins were low and demand high so it drove the prices up. Golds hit 25k and graded silvers were making up to 6k, it basically went mental. The mint release prices were £4485 and £180
Now we have the second coin in the series The Three Graces, again small numbers ( 3500 & 325 ) and again a frenzy. This time however some people are sending their coins to be graded as they realise there is a lot more money to be made. Grading takes time and until those graded coins hit auction it is difficult to put a price on the coins in the market.
Hope this helps and I got it right

I didnt understand 😅 i need a reassurance please. Is there a possibility to be canceled or not?
If you purchase a coin with a card it is the cards registered address that is recorded not the delivered too address.
If you buy 10 coins on 1 card delivered too 10 different addresses you will get 1 coin delivered to the cards registered address.
This is how I understand it

Speaking about the “we regret to let you know” email that might be sent as some are saying, I had to use my friends credit card to buy my coin as the website wasn't letting me use a debit card. He also purchased his coin using the same card. But we live in different houses in the same city. Is there a possibility my coin canceled for the above reason?
1 coin - 1 card - 1 card registered address

I bought much like Andrew and still have a couple which are at around spot now. The question is always there in the back of your head when you see the sales as they are " do I shed one for the massive pay out" mmmm makes you wonder
-
I think the main issue is the fairness of the situation there would seems to be confusion within the RM's interpretation a level playing field.
The RM:
1. Say that they are limiting a household to one unit of a release to ensure everyone gets a crack of the whip.
2. Sell coins from a release to people not in a cue awaiting their opportunity to purchase.
2 obviously makes 1 laughable and the RM untrustworthy in their decision making
There should be no obligation on the royal mint to do anything other put the coin to be released behind a buy now button.

Presumably as Music Legends is quite a loose term it could also involve composers like lloyd webber could it not

whilst I do find posts quoting prices as spot (+ a percentage) confusing and less straight forward than just picking a price a sticking to it, I am curious as to how offering a free coin is hideous 😂
It just makes me think "please buy me"
If you dont want to spent 1300 on a washing machine giving you a box of daz is not going to change your mind

Is gold getting to expensive for people to buy. I have advertised a number of one ounce gold coins at spot including delivery, even offering a free Proof silver 1 ounce eagle with a gold ounce at spot but no takers. Gold listed at spot used to sell almost instantly but now there are no takers.
I myself am new both here on the forum and as a collector/stacker. On a personal note I ignore your sales posts which seem to continually pop up with Spot plus postage in the title because I get the impression you are playing the game. As the spot price has climbed it seems to me as you have climbed on. I thought todays offering of a free coin was hideous to be frank but just my opinion and am sorry if it offends.

Hmm..that makes me think. Since I have the 1 & 2 Oz coins...why shouldn't I get the half ounce one too, to complete the set. I think I will
Personally I think that is the plan and lot more people can dig for the silver when the gold is out of reach.
-
Haha its not the one I have for sale this is my keeper to go with the 2 & 1/2 oz

Maybe the more scarce are coins which are perfectly aligned?! It would make more sense to pay more for a perfect-looking coin than an error one
Exactly my thoughts

Looks more like its rotated a tad
Exactly and it varies from only slightly on the top pick up to big twist that affects the 3. Once they are twisted the keys show on an angle. As I say I have looked at these for days now and not seen a good one
Its going to be the aligned ones are the rare ones 😂

Whats strange is the left side does not seem to affect the right ?

Perfect example
Pickups under strings on guitar left side, gold doesnt cover silver throws the top piano keys out of line.
Interestingly the left side and top of coin seem to be misaligned but the right side of coin does not.
