First gold purchase alert! 
Ok, so it's only a 1/10th Britannia - but my toe has officially been dipped into the golden water. I didn't expect such intricate detail. Will definitely be looking to add more gold now i've taken the plunge.

If the Mint are holding back on shipping i would say that is a good idea - unrelated to coins i send stuff in the mail - courier systems and i am seeing more than usual delays and tracked items just going missing. 

1862 "US Civil War" gold dollar. Tiny coin, 15mm and 1.67g. Fascinating time in US history, mid 1800's, and nice to own a little part of it....

£170 with the discount. Think it was the only one as back out of stock. Shows it’s worth checking daily though.

Sorry to hear any bad news.
I sometimes do work which involves sending paperwork in the post.  The instructions from the employing firm are; "For safety do not send by ordinary mail use only second class recorded."
The nature of the work is no paperwork no payment so I always use Royal Mail Special Delivery, guaranteed to be delivered by 13:00 next day.
It is more expensive, but well worth it.
"Low" value ebay sales are very tricky - the Special Delivery cost really eats into the £'s but give the best peace of mind possible.
I had a case recently where the parcel was delivered 24 hours late.  The process for claiming a refund and the communication from the Post Office were absolutely fantastic.
So RM Special Delivery carries my very highest recommendation.

Well mine looks fine, no spots or anything. To be honest, I haven't encountered many silver proof coins that have milk spotted, only bullion ones in my experience. All my silver proofs bought over the last year still look good. I think those that do spot, do so fairly early on after minting already, not all of a sudden years down the line.
