I know it feels I have been ignoring Silver, but it ain’t true. Just not been posting much of it. Here is a recent stack of bars, such an interesting mix. Top line is a range of 100gm bars.

It’s been a while since I commented in this section because it’s been so busy for me. However today I received a number of beautiful coins and wanted to share the love.
1562 milled Elizabeth sixpence
1605 hammered James sixpence
1684 Charles II sixpence
1703 Vigo Anne sixpence
1921 Peace Dollar (it completes my collection but will probably be swapped for a better version when the opportunity arises!)
My sixpence collection is now more or less done. I will be looking for higher grades in the cases where I’m not content. My attention is now going back to the stack and filling some tubes.

During my many discussions with @Marc i told him about my affinity for Phoenix coins and he showed me one he had. From that moment i wanted it. Just loved the super design with the Phoenix and obviously the gold! I've got to learn more about the history behind it too. I think he was very reluctant to let it go, but i'm chuffed he did!
Here its is, A 30 g (¥100,000) gold proof (PF70) coin commemorating The Enthronement of Emperor Akihito (Heisei). This emperor recently abdicated, the first time an emperor has done so in over 200 years. They are not rare coins, about 100,000 of them in proof, but they are very scarce outside of Japan. Now that the emperor has abdicated they probably hold a bit more historical significance! There's quite a story about the Japanese 20 g gold coin from this era, but maybe @Marc can tell that story in another post!

Certainly no where near the grade of the previous but still a decent condition.

Come on lad, can't stay a virgin all your life.

The Sherlock Holmes Silver Proof 50p was back in stock, so following my dithering yesterday of the 50p I just bought the pair- £92.50 as an aggregate buy for the pair isn’t bad at all!!

This little beauty... my first toe dip into the world of "old" sovereigns. 1837 Shieldback. As always the photos are terrible and its in a flip that is a bit beat up, but will be off to @Numistacker for some NCS treatment.

Silver content of £1.08 each bought at spot. Any 100 yen coin from 1957 onwards is still usable and 100 yen is the equivalent of £0.68. Got a few more coming. I think a few Olympic ones only made in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics.
Fun fact in over 60 years, the only times 100 yen (not silver but the value of 100 yen adjusted for inflation) didn’t decline in value were 1986-1987, 1995-1996, and then the 1999 value of 100 yen effectively strengthened in value all the way to 2017 Astonishing.   https://www.inflationtool.com/japanese-yen/1957-to-present-value
