My 2oz got a 70 grade, really like this design over the other one, i think the other is a bit too busy.

My latest PCGS submission came back. These are the regular size slabs (two are double thickness), I will present the large ones in another post. Some notes:
One came back as "Details", it seems I can't avoid these completely but I have become better... 🙄 The Austrian medal had come back as "non eligible" from NGC and now it got a great SP69, nice surprise! 😎 NGC had also refused to grade my Iranian gold coin. Something that had to do with sanctions, which I couldn't understand, as this was from before the Islamic revolution. And they have graded several such Pahlavi coins. Anyway PCGS had no such issue and got a respectable MS65. 🧐 I am glad that the peculiar octagonal medal was graded, I was not sure about that. It sits a little sideways in the slab but maybe it has to do with the unusual shape. Two went in thick slabs and especially glad about the Spanish medal, again was not sure if they will slab it. Overall pretty happy and it proved that if one company refuses to grade something, you can always try the other one. PCGS seems very knowledgeable with European medals but I had problems with some American ones. I send all the US medals to NGC now and if something fails, I will try PCGS too.

Just received from Heritage Auctions in US. Three cupro-nickel proofs, mintage 1,700 for the two of them and still checking for the piedfort. There are some silver piedforts in these series (oversea French territories), expensive and hard to find (mintage 50!). And the top of the line is the Gold Piedfort with 20 mintage!!  Still some way to get there though... 🧐

My 1oz Gold arrived this morning, the forum seems to have been down a lot lately so just catching up on the thread on this one...

I was on the site by chance when it was released, took a chance on this as I really liked the design but havn't collected any others in the series.

There will be a market for it for sure, but i think as you say the number of 70 grades will effect it. If you took say (completed random number) £1500 for it, thats still £1200 profit... not to be sniffed at.

I agree, i guess there is a gamble that it could be a 70 grade coin... but it could also be worse. Its very strange pricing. Essentially, get a 69 grade, put it back in the box to sell 🤦‍♂️

Oh i completely understand. I think the Mint did the right thing not to increase the mintage numbers too much and keep the coin some what limited, the other sizes have gone a bit crazy, but the 5oz seems a pretty stable coin for the mint now so that may be the new size a few people start collecting.
When the next one comes out the same bun-fight will happen, and i will be in there, i narrowly missed out on a gold one this time around, if that had worked out thats 35k profit... collector or not, that cant be sniffed at and i would have flipped that as soon as i could to take the money, despite imho, the three graces being a much nicer coin than the una. End of the day, as you say money is money and some people have near life changing returns on some of these coins, so sometimes the gamble can pay off. more often than not, as with say a lot of the gold 50p's they return potential isnt there unless its a hot topic and most of the new issues will be long term loses.

I think the next month when a lot of these really start dropping back in the uk is going to be a bloodbath for the graces coin with undercut after undercut. I have some with NGC atm and will sell some of them when they come back, ill see what the market is like but dont mind holding for a while.

grading has calmed down a little now, 16 more pf70 for the 2oz and 8 more for the 5oz. few more 69 grades too.

A well known coin dealer offered me 1100 for my 2oz silver NGC 70 today. I appreciate they need to make a profit, but I am not willing to go that low

think there will be a flood of 70s hitting the market when the bulk of them return from Trumpland
Only so many will be allowed in these coin auction sales each time so overspill will appear on FleaBay
are there 900 collectors around the world willing to pay £4k ??? doubt it personally
Dont think it will be like for like comparison for the Una & Lion for values in the early days personally

I wonder how many have been sold at that price. I can be "selling" one at £50k, doesn't mean any have sold at that. I think this is the upper limit, there is no reason to pay more, so I would expect auctions to sell for less than this. Once the bulk of these come back from grading and are being offered, I suspect the price will drop as they will be easily available in a 70 grade, its not like an Una where they are a lot rarer.

Seems mine is back in Landhan.
I left them a message on Friday regarding the invoice they sent me on Friday which I believe I paid.  Tried calling them again just now, answerphone again. Will try them again in the morning when I think they are definitely in.
Looking forward to getting it back in my grubby mits.

My “photo vision” email arrived about an hour ago!
Photo Vision is of the raw coin, I’ve just found out, so not post grading (not sure if that also means not post conservation yet either), anyway here it is.
Hopefully on its way into the grading room now fingers crossed 🤞
Would have preferred a photo of post grading, to help It’s case for sale one day in the future 🤷‍♂️

My experience of buying at auction is the buyer will take the premium into account so if the target price is 6k they will bid the target price minus the commission and that will be the hammer price.
