Pete reacted to ChrisSilver in Please read: Commenting in sales topics - no unsolicited posts
Unsolicited posts in a trade topic / commenting in someone else’s trade topic / clear and accurate trade listings.
Foreword: We have decided to remove the feature for Platinum Premium Members to be able to automatically hide comments in their own trade topics. This benefit was originally intended to allow Platinum Premium Members to quickly hide unsolicited comments without the need to report it to the Moderation team. However, it unfortunately allowed for some posts to be hidden when they should not have been hidden (from a Moderation perspective.) e.g. genuine questions asked by prospective buyers trying to clarify ambiguous information in a listing. It also appeared to some Members that TSF was allowing some members to buy “moderation privileges” and to then break the forum rule, this was not the case and please be assured that the forum rules apply to all member groups. Though of course we would like to give an extra thank you to those who decide to support TSF with one of the the highest packages, Platinum and Platinum PLUS Premium Membership.
Further to this we have also added the disclaimer that unsolicited comments in a members trade topic will be removed/hidden at the discretion of the Moderation team. We wish to help sellers keep their trade topics tidy and to help their sales but at the same time ask for a transparent and open marketplace. If a member asks a question publicly in your trade topic it is beneficial for your sale to answer it publicly. Please see the section further down in regards to posts about prices. We also ask that only genuinely interested parties to a sale comment publicly in a trade listing.
Sellers, please be very accurate, unambiguous and clear in the details of your listing. This is to maintain a fair and transparent marketplace where trust and honourability are the pillars of the forum and the forum’s trade section.
Please be very careful when mentioning the weights of items or any reference to spot prices. Note that if your item is not pure silver or pure gold, please be careful with indicating the weights of the item as to not mislead a buyer into assuming the pure gold content weight is higher than it actually is.
Please also be very careful making statements that you may not be able to prove. Such as, but not limited to, “the lowest price you will find this item anywhere” “cheapest on the forum” “lower than any dealer” “you won’t loose on this one” “guaranteed investment” “rare” etc, such statements may not be factually correct and although you may believe them to be correct at the time of writing may indeed turn out to be incorrect or false later on. We deem such statements to be misleading and these types of statements also do more harm then good to your sales.
Etiquette to follow if you see inaccurate or misleading information in someone's sales topic.
1. Please use the report feature to report any listings that you believe to be inaccurate or misleading. If it is determined by the moderation team to be misleading or inaccurate we will contact the seller and politely ask them to clarify / edit their listing.
Listings you see without prices
Listings must contain an asking price, if you see a listing where the seller has omitted this information we kindly ask you not to post in the seller's trade listing. Please instead use the report feature, a member of the Moderation team will then kindly ask that member to post an asking price as per forum rules. Though we understand that you may wish to help, the best way to help is to use the report feature to do this. It is the Moderation team's role to enforce any forums rules.
Unsolicited posts in a trade topic:
If you are not a prospective member to a trade please do not post in someone's sales topics.
These sorts of comments add no value to the sale and you are discouraging sellers to list items. If an item is priced too high and doesn't sell, the seller will understand that the item was priced too high. There is no need to comment in their sales topic.
You may think an item is priced too high, this is the sellers choice to choose their asking price, please do not make unwanted posts in the seller's sales topic. It is up to the buyer to decide if the item is being sold at a fair price (they can even make a separate question in the other forum sections to ask what the fair price of such an item would be if they have concerns)
Note that buyers are encouraged to do their research before buying, please check various online dealers and marketplaces so you are aware of fair market prices. Members trade at their own risk and it is their responsibility to do their due diligence on the item and the seller etc. A seller may also be willing to take offers on their item via PM, this is down to the seller.
For clarification please do not unsolicited posts posts such as "this other dealer/member here is selling this for a lower price" etc in someone's listing and please follow the forum etiquette.
Also, if you notice any mistakes in someone's listing, or something appears wrong out of common courtesy private message the seller rather than comment in the topic itself allowing the topic author to rectify the problem. If you don't want to private message a member please use the report feature. Thank you for your cooperation.
To sellers: Please report unwanted or related posts in your sales topics and they can be removed. Posts will be removed/hidden at the discretion of the Moderation team.
These rules / guidelines may be updated in the future. Our aim is to maintain a fair and honest marketplace for all and to not discourage sellers from listing, the trade section is an important part of the forum and maintaining the success of the forum. Thank you to everyone who buys and sellers on the forum's trade section. We appreciate you following the guidelines above and following forum etiquette.

I bought on the dips thinking I would win later but the cycle repeated ... and repeated ... and continues to repeat.
When betting on roulette say on the red.
Keep betting on the red and you will eventually win back your losses provided you double your previous bet.
Ever seen 12 consecutive blacks ?
I have.
1. Assume your first bet is $10 and it is black, lost $10
2. Bet $20 black, total loss $30
3. Bet $40 black, loss $70
4. Bet $80 black, loss $150
5. Bet $160 black, loss $310
6. Bet $320 black, loss $630
7. Bet $640 black, loss $1270
8. Bet $1280 black, loss $2350
9. Bet $2560 black, loss $4910
10. Bet $5120 black, loss $10,300
11. Bet $10,240 black, loss $20,540
12. Bet $20,480 black, loss $41,020
13. Bet $40,960 red WIN collect $40,960 for overall loss of $60
So betting with $10 might require $40,000 or more to win back losses over time and might still cost you $60
Buying silver is not gambling as you will not loose all of your investment but using a strategy of piling in when cheap shows that if prices continue to slide then be ready for a much bigger investment than perhaps you originally intended, assuming you are trying to cover your earlier losses.

Pete got a reaction from KDave in Gold Monitoring Thread £ GBP only
Before I buy any coins I always compare HGM and Atkinsons prices as 90% of the time the lowest.
I decided to buy a one ounce Queen's Beast but was somewhat surprised to see the Royal Mint being much cheaper than Atkinsons for a Griffin.
I paid £983.03 with free delivery and the coin comes in a capsule from the RM.
Has Atkinson's mis-priced or is the Griffin price rising following it's predecessor the Lion I wonder, in which case the RM price is a bargain.

Good video tape from iGold Adviser on youtube today, crystal balling a December 2018 breakout. His crystal ball is normally pretty good.

Pete reacted to TheGoldSovereign in Jubilee Sovereign Bust Types
So Marsh discovered the two bust types, aptly named "First" and "Second" types.
He listed a few from 1887 of both types, with the branch mints being R (Rare). It was left with this quote:
Has anyone come across any later years of the first bust type, or is it assumed they were only in 1887? As i've just stumbled upon a 1890 First bust type, and have quite a lot more to go through today. It means re-arranging my whole run because i did not account for new entries that marsh didn't have!
I'll put up some pics later to confirm, will see if i find anymore first
