2008 Icons of the Commonwealth   All attempts to purchase a gold "Kangaroo at Sunset" with anything except an outrageously high premium are, I have come to learn, utterly futile. I was, therefore, more than a little delighted when a backdoor to ownership presented itself at a small "Tribal Arts" auction in the form of this attractive numismatic triad. The Sunset's engraver, Wojciech Pietranik, whose stylized monogram can be seen just below the horizon, designed, in my opinion, a remarkably simple but breathtakingly beautiful coin.  A proof Royal Mint Sovereign and an RCM Maple complete the set.

My 2 sets of Swans turned up today, so as I’ve seen a few wildlife shots, I thought I’d snap them with their friends on the lake and then a bit closer up.

Well the box arrived from NGC with 40 coins in (39 for my 1977 collection) So 2 NGC storage boxes full now of these goodies - mostly pretty high grades of 69-70 so very happy.

Thanks @Realwealthuprising for the beautiful 2019 proof Dutch gold Ducat. A short while after buying it from the Silverforum I picked up a 1927 bullion Ducat from a Sydney auction.

Back in 1989 I remember reading the Sunday Times newspaper and in the colourful magazine section was a Royal Mint advert for the special 500th Anniversary of the Sovereign set.  At the time there was no way I could afford even the half sovereign (I think the half sovereign’s initial cost was about £79).  The double sovereign’s issue price was about £299, and after over thirty years I have just bought an example of this beautiful coin.  I guess that is what you call the impact of marketing!

Today I received my very first NGC PF70 silver coin. Boy oh boy, what s difference it makes, looking at one in the flesh, so to speak.

Today I received these very sexy proof finish 10oz Britannia bar cases 😁. Seemingly more valuable than the 10oz bars themselves. Going forwards I plan to sell all my silver and gold so that I can focus on stacking the cases.

Today I had these shoved through my letterbox. I ordered the 2016 cougar and they gave me the copper coin free. I thought that was a nice little touch by them. Thanks to Sarnia Silver!

Not something I would normally buy, but got a good price and it’s a great story. 48 tonnes of silver, one of the deepest, largest wreck recovery in history. About 20,000 mintage, wish it was a 1oz brit.

Finally completed a series with the eighth Silver Chinese Restrike! Five 2020 China 1 oz Silver Dragon Kwang-Tung Dollar Restrike (PU)...
