Grading

We are proud to announce the official launch of COR's NGC grading service & The Silver Forum branded label. 

The Silver Forum have partnered with Coins of the Realm Ltd (@CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions) and NGC to provide members with an NGC grading service. Coins of the Realm are an NGC authorized dealer.  

TSF receive no commission from any of the services offered by COR. Unless an applicable charge is taken for the TSF label (please see details and costs for labels further down below, some member groups can get the label for a discount / free) We have however secured discount vouchers for premium members buying at their auctions, and discounts for premium members selling at COR auctions. The full savings are passed directly onto members, as TSF supports itself through members choosing to upgrade to Premium Membership. Similarly, we have also secured some very attractive discounts for Premium Members wishing to grade coins with COR.

All coins are fully insured whilst in the possession of COR No additional charge for this.


Grading Pricing 

EDIT: It looks like NGC will be increasing their prices from 1st of January 2023, as such @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions pricing will also change. For correct prices please speak with COR directly at the time of submitting so they can advise pricing. NGC have not currently stated what their price increase will be yet. I will leave the old pricing table up below, but please direct message COR for current price. 

ATTENTION: From 1st April 2022, the prices below changed to include VAT. Please ADD VAT to the below. that the below pricing table is correct from 1st April 2022 onwards. e.g. A coin that is in the modern category would cost just £24 + 20% VAT = just £28.80 (minus any applicable discounts for your Premium Membership group) + shipping. There is no increase to the TSF label fee, and the TSF label fee price is inclusive of any applicable VAT, the same applies to the shipping charge.

You will notice above that there are discounts for Premium Members grading coins. TSF branded label 

Premium Members may choose an optional TSF branded label when grading with COR. This label is exclusive to those grading via COR, and is unavailable anywhere else. The TSF branded label is available only for Premium Members.

Any applicable TSF label fee that is charged, is passed on to TSF from COR. All TSF label fees received will go towards the $1000 label charge, any fees received after this will go directly into TSF's marketing costs. TSF relies heavily on Premium Members who support TSF, as such there are larger discounts available on the TSF label fee for higher tier Premium Members as well as FREE TSF labels available for Platinum and Platinum PLUS tier members.

The TSF label is currently available on standard size and double thick NGC holders. We may look at making a TSF label available for oversize holders if there is sufficient demand.

When submitting your item(s) for grading please do confirm with @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions via the TSF messaging system that you have sent them an item. Contacting COR via the TSF messaging system may help to speed up the validation of the applicable discounts as they will be able to easily validate your membership status. Please also include your TSF member name on the submission form if possible. 

TSF members must hold the applicable membership level at the time of submitting their items and the time that they are invoiced from Coins of the Realm to take advantage of the discounts. 

Coins of the Realm Ltd are based in the UK. Import taxes and other applicable charges may apply if sending items from outside of the UK to Coins of the Realm. We currently do not have a partner in the EU or USA offering a grading service for members, however we hope that in the future as the forum grows that we can find a way to provide our members in these regions with a similar grading service and TSF label. 

Note that the grading service is provided by COR. Any contract for services is between the member/customer and COR. Note that the grading itself is done by NGC, although NGC try to minimise grading errors with the coins being checked by multiple graders it may however on occasion be possible that a coin may come back at a higher or lower grade than it should have been assigned. Coins graded by NGC are covered by their guarantee should they overgrazed the coin, please see here for further details. The NGC guarantee also covers items with the TSF label, to make a claim you would need to go direct to NGC, please see all of the details on the previous link.

Similar to this you have also a bunch of PM "experts", especial silver youtube "experts" who keep saying, if silver go up much in value, it s not world you want to live! Hm.. did you notice, it s only said for silver!!? Everything else can go up 1000 times, but if silver go, it will be end of world, lol ahaha! So it s just pointing where the really value is, in PM! Back to "if inflation starts pick up"?! Man look at USA stock exchange, you have hyperinflation already there!! Only better than NYSE is Zimbabwe stock exchange, because they start before with hyperinflation haha.

@HawkHybridI think there may well be something in that. 
If ever I saw a market ripe for correction it is stock at the moment, both here and and in the US.  Stock is up over 20 pct since November in the U.K. FTSE within striking distance of 7k.  The Dow is much more frothy still.  
 
Maybe it is like the canary in the mine, or the sea going out as far as you can peer just before a tsunami.

My understanding of the early years during the birth of the ECSC is that there was at least one German character involved with a rather interesting background shall we say.  It was always destined to be an imperialistic venture and it has indeed become a Franco German empire with Germany at the helm.  It was just a softer and slower attempt than the previous two failed ones only a few short years earlier.
Margaret Thatcher was certainly in favour of the EEC as a trade organisation.  But she was also totally and completely opposed to it as a political union.

Arg. Very true. Just did a quick read up. It was Churchill that was for the EU idea, however Britain stood on the sidelines at the time as the ECSC was formed to deal initial with trading of steel,  the U.K. felt it would alienate them from trade with the commonwealth and believed that the pound was the global currency. Not sure that idea worked out well, probably about is good as Gordon Brown flogging the nations gold reserves for £200-300 an once in the early 2000’s. How many of us remember that ;).
In 1961 U.K. tried to get in France vetoed in twice over the next decade, then in around 69 they got a chance and by 71 they were in, Denmark shortly after. 
ECSC changed names and grew along the way going to EC and then to EU I believe.

This is a given, as in the scheme of things, bullion Silver rakes in a tiny amount of revenue for the exchequer- I would wager perhaps equaling  an hour or less per year of say, fuel VAT revenue per year.
Pity the government won’t have the removal of VAT on Silver on the agenda anytime soon, as it might help more of the populous save rather than consume s****. 

Just bought two sovereigns at Chards for £333 each and within two mins they have gone to £335. Blimey it changes very quickly.

Little update, gained some weight

Usually, it is the last Friday of the month, especially an even-numbered month, when you get big traders driving the price around to get their contracts and options into the money. This month, futures expiry was today, 27th August. Usually the price is driven down to a minimum at 4 p.m. London time (11 a.m. NY time) to coincide with the London fix. Interestingly, today there seemed to be an attempt to drive the price up, which was interrupted and followed by a sharp drive down. Commentators are saying that the moves are down to responses to Jay  Powell's speech, but to be honest, his speech was a nothing burger - there was no new announcement, just the promise that the Fed will try to cause price inflation, which they've said before. I think we are seeing the same old manipulation of the price. Disappointingly, the price did not recover after 4 p.m. London time, which would have been a bullish signal. Tomorrow, Friday 28th, is options expiry day, so there may be some more shennigans tomorrow.
