My 3-Coin set arrived today and is exactly the same with the black foam middle insert. Funnily enough my single Sov also arrived and, yeah, the middle insert is the nice normal wooden / laquered material.

Henry VII (1485- 1509) Groat, Profile Issue, triple band to Crown, mm. Cross- Crosslet which dates the coin to 1504- 5. Spink 2258.  3.07 grams.
Obverse Lettering: HENRIC' · VII' · DI' · GRA' · REX · AGL' · Z · F' 
Translation: Henry the Seventh by the Grace of God King of England and France 
Royal shield of arms over long cross fourchée
Reverse Lettering: POSVI DEV . · A DIVTOR E' : MEV' 
Translation: I have made God my Helper
I would say VF grade, it’s a nice weight and a full round flan although, some weakness to the King’s face, but corresponding weakness can be seen to the shield of the Reverse, indicative of a striking weakness rather than wear?

Box only for me. Guess play the guessing game as to when the coin will arrive.

The box is very, very shiny! Arrived very well packaged. Opens and closes nicely. When the latest coin arrives will have to get them all out and try them in the box. Ten spaces.

Just been onto Royal Mint and they are starting on the 3 coin box set this Friday

Not trying to rub any salt into anyone’s wounds… but honestly… what does FIRST RELEASE have to do with anything?
All Proof coins, whether struck first or last, are meant to be the same quality; and there is no guarantee a “first release” (a very random contrivance by the grading companies!) is any different from a later release.
This is another reason I’m not into grading. Third party companies creating a business model for a need that they’ve fabricated - and cashing in at the expense of collectors. It makes no sense to me at all.
I can see a need for third party companies (i.e., besides the official Mints) to provide an authentication service for verifying coins as genuine, because fakes exist; but anything beyond that is a classic case of “creating a market”.

I'm a relative newcomer to this proof sovereign business. I've been around a while, I have a little gold, but am (was?) mainly a silver guy. 
I bought the 2022 proof full sov as it was a piece of history and very attractive to my eye. It was also the first such sovereign that I was in a position to buy on release. It is now probably my favourite single coin that I own.
I have ordered the memorial full sov as it too is a piece of history. I wasn't planning to lay out that sort of cash again so soon, but there you go! It will probably be the last such coin I buy for a while. Its an expensive habit to keep up.
Whilst I appreciate the frustration of some that we have paid up front and don't actually know for sure when we will receive the coins, I'm genuinely not bothered. As a long term purchase the inability to flip doesn't matter to me, nor does instant increase in value (or lack of). My kids will sell it, not me.
My coin is paid for, I will receive it soon enough and in all likelihood it will be in decent condition. I'm an adult, I can wait a few weeks, it's not a big deal. I'm just happy that I'm in a fortunate enough position to be able to own one. 

Personally I'm sticking with mine, I'm pretending it's already in the safe not being looked at. Then when I do receive it I'll pretend like it's been a long time since I've taken it out for a treasure look at day.

You possibly both know I have paused active posting for the time being.
But as you mentioned me and tagged me in, I feel duty bound to respond:
@ChardsCoinandBullionDealer recently had a meeting at the Royal Mint, in which numerous topics were discussed. It is too early for me to have received a debrief, but Quality Control was on the agenda, and was discussed.
I was not aware SS had a QC problem last time, or I have forgotten, but we might use this as an example of feedback and problems we get.
As we are now dealing direct with the RM for both bullion and commemorative coins, it should be easier for us to ensure replacements where there is a QC problem.
I will know more in a while, and even more in a year's time, after we have experience a full year's "product" cycle.
