It seems the Perth Mint 2024 Swan silver bullion coin would be nice looking one this year! But let us wait for the non-colored coin to show up before the final call.....

Agreed. For example, the 1980 Double PF67 is double the price it would make on the open market

I remember 4 or 5 years ago, the Forum would have been awash with excitement at the release of the proof Britannia.  I guess only the RM knows how to kill both the golden goose and the silver goose at the same time!

I have bought 2 King George V silver coins from RM site when i started collecting numismatic coins years way back.  After a year, i realized i can purchase similar grade ones at 50-60% from markets, a lesson learned and luckily not sky rocket prices were involved.  These 2 coins are still kept by me up to now and remind me the story behind😅.

Perth Mint Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle 10th Anniversary 2024 1oz silver: (I think it's not that beautiful this year! The eagle head is so small. I think previous years were much better looking).

    It' a public place.
However, if you're trying to help somebody who can save some cash, if they don't appreciate it, at least you have done your good deed for the day😃

You could have stepped in, but the other side is someone might not always appreciate it. Could be seen as listening on their conversation.
I remember a few years ago in a supermarket, someone was buying those four packs of pot noodles for about £3.50, I noticed that the shop were selling singles for 50p, I pointed this out and boy what what a look I got.  Sometimes people just do not want to be helped.

Bruce06 reacted to BackyardBullion in Post office Workers (sometimes) take advantage of poor and vulnerable
Most post office workers are good, but there are definitely some bad eggs out there.
I was in a post office that is not my usual one and an older gentleman went up before me to the counter.
He had a small, thin jiffy bag to post.
He asked to send it by the cheapest method possible.
The post office worker then asked, "For security reasons I need to know what is inside". To which he replied, "A charm bracelet for my granddaughter".
The post office worker jumped on this opportunity to say, "You will have to send it special delivery as it is jewellery, that will be £7.65 please" The old man looked a bit taken aback and then started rummaging around in his pockets for the cash. I heard him say, "the bracelet only cost me £3 at a charity shop".
I really wanted to step forward and say something, but I decided not to make a fuss. Maybe I should have done.
This is not the first time I have seen this behaviour and it really makes me quite sad. The people that don't push back don't know any better and just get taken advantage of unfortunately.

Totally agree, eBay is not really safe to buy from now, even I'm struggling to tell the difference with some fakes. I can only be thankful that my pre-1920 quest is winding down to the final hundred or so dates that are left, most of which are threepences and sixpences, which appear unscathed at the moment.
The gothic florin fakes are scarily good. Even the young head halfcrowns are starting to look the part. Sometimes the only thing that gives it away is the statement "this is a space filler plated coin". In all honesty, sometimes I really cannot tell. And this is a numismatist of 34 years saying this. It breaks the heart.

    Hi.
Unfortunately these are only pseudo-hallmarks, trying to look in a similar way as genuine silver hallmarks without breaking the law, but enough intricate to foul the buyers.
On your item you have a bull stamped instead of lion, the foul's face is present to say "Hey, it is a joke!" , a knight on a shield instead of a king's portrait, an eagle over a leopard face instead of crowned leopard and a caricature of Britannia mark.
Also, it is written in clear Silver on Copper, not Sterling silver.

Few examples of genuine marks are in this image:

I hope you didn't paid too much for this object.
    Have a great day!

Ironically it's our technology that is giving us more cancer. Living longer and having multiple cancer detection systems bump the figures too
Marine life has a body water content of 70%+ and humans are roughly 60%. We've ruined the global hydrological cycle with plastic and acidifiers. There is microplastic everywhere and nanoplastic in everything, including your blood and bodily systems. In marine life we observe cancers growing around the plastics they have ingested
Our diets are mostly sugar with sugar being the preferred fuel for cancer cells. Our devices and technology marginally increase our chances of getting cancer directly with some more causal than others (like antennas and transmitters). Our cancer rates have exploded with every step we've taken away from the normal human diet and lifestyle. The normal human diet does not include ultra processed foods, plastic, teflon, a mountain of sugar and forever chemicals. The normal human lifestyle isn't sitting on your arse infinity scrolling either
That has nothing to do with KCIII but if we live long enough, most of us should expect to get cancer. If you get cancer there's also a 70% chance you'll get another cancer. Having cancer is the new normal. That's the cherry message we all need on a Monday evening

PF69s have struggled to get much more than their raw counterparts. Personally I'd remove and display raw as long as you have correct box/coa etc.

As per my experience before, Perth Mint quality is in general better than Royal Mint, especially the coin is most likely problem free.  Also, some of their designs are very good, like Swan, Eagle, Kookaburra etc.
