Wampum got a reaction from Arganto in Markings and Picture
The mark is the Halbmond und Reichskrone, which is a German mark that came into use in the 1886 and then used to mark German Silver from 1888.
A similar pair of the Knights sold at Auction a few years back For $1750;
Same base and if yours weighs Around the 14 to 17 troy oz probably from the same collection/company if the marks are similar.
Good quality Knights have an Ivory face and hands (some however are made from bone which is probably more ethical now a days).
Please don't clean them, as you will halve the amount of people who want to collect them, and you can really destroy the price .
There is an American woman who collects these and had them polished to an inch off their lives, really looked awful. (I think it is Barry Weiss s' Mother).
These are for sale on Ebay;
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174824179384?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28#:~:text=Antique German Made Sterling Silver Figurine Set Knight %26 Queen%2C Hanau%3F Statue
The Cavalier would need more research, as have never really saw the Cresent and Crown with a 980 and to have Silver content that high is really good,
The biggest majority are called German Silver Knights so it will give you a Start in the search.
I hope this helps, however you would probably have to just check if all my info is correct, just to make sure.

Wampum got a reaction from Scaffstacker in Any Concerns With Grading Due to Ongoing Conflict?
It was during the Troubles in Northern Ireland in the late Eighties/Nineties, I was no where near at the time, just remember the hassles trying to sort it.
Remember also trying to get to the Airports was a nightmare, you had to leave hours before hand to get there, as you were never sure how long the check points,
where on the roads outside the airport.

I can remember one of my first cars suffered bomb damage, as was sitting just off the street when it went off,
so was hit by the shock wave, and not the explosion.
Blew apart the brake servo, would have done more damage, however it was a Fait UNO so had vent windows in the back.
The blast blew these apart which released the pressure, and puckered up the roof on the corner pillars.
Tried to claim on my insurance however told me that War and Civil unrest are not covered, so this could be the case when it comes to any type of insurance.
Had to fix the servo and new windows, myself, the car drove great for years after, looked odd however with a cushion shaped roof.

Wampum reacted to Stuntman in 3oz Platinum for Platinum jubilee coin. 52 only!
The 10 oz silver coins are the sweet spot for me in terms of their dimensions and bling.
The 1kg silver coin is a very cool statement piece, but it's more of a cylinder than it is a coin. Understandable, but still a shame!
@Silverman2U - I really hope you find the right buyer for your platinum coin, the suggestion of putting it into that RM auction is a very good one in my opinion if you do want to sell it soon.
(I'd take that Commonwealth halfcrown over the platinum coin every day of the week and twice on Sundays, even at Baldwin's price!) A proper piece of English history.

Wampum got a reaction from ArgentSmith in 3oz Platinum for Platinum jubilee coin. 52 only!
I think with the platypieds ,they are twice the thickness of the normal 1oz silver version so the Mint gave them the Piedfort designation.
You could put it back through the Royal Mints Auction in a few months time would have the right audience plus zero fees.
There are four versions that have a lower mintage if you don't count
the first strike mintage of 25 for Churchill --Churchill has 65 plus separate issue of twenty five in (I think)NGC First whacked holders.

Wampum got a reaction from GoldDiggerDave in Fractional Platinum coins from the Royal mint
I was looking at the 10ths' from bullionbypost, the cost far out weighs the need to buy them.
10th plat is at 210% its actual bullion
compared to gold at 114% is bullion value.
I can understand the slightly extra cost to produce but for it to be more than double including VAT means for any return it needs to be at £1500 just to break even.

Wampum got a reaction from GoldDiggerDave in Royal Mint - Great Engravers 2021 - Gothic Crown information
It is the wording on the Royal Mint email--"The Great Engravers Collection, which will continue with the first of two coins", being released very soon.
I would take that to mean that the first coin will be released, followed then by the second at a later date.
If the second (or vice versa ) has 300 less coins issued there will be a few people banjaxed who wanted the set.

Ok! Now I can see the difference. Clearly you can see the frosty appearance of this versus the coin from the original post. The lettering and holder itself I guess would have to be compared to a genuine holder for someone like myself to notice it. I had heard about genuine coins in fake holders, but I hadn’t seen the results of one before. Truly a sickening thing to do against the coin collecting community.
