If you are new to this then point plank don't put 6k into it if you can not afford to lose it.
I grade £100,00's worth of coins some can do well others have been a total car crash, you are right at the start and asking a very big question. Start off small get to know the process but not only that you really need to learn the coin market which can't be done over night.

Good look with your journey let us all know what you buy with your 6k and how much profit you make.

The main grading companies are PCGS and NGC.
TSF’s official grading partner for NGC is COTR @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions. Please see the topic here:
There are also other business members on the forum who offer grading services via one or both of the main grading companies (PCGS & NGC).
    You can also self grade.

Starting this thread to see what cool coin and bullion watches are out there.
I think coin watches look great and would buy a 1oz gold one or even a silver crown watch or something.
I got my first gold ingot watch years ago on a business class onboard shop for a bargain price.  And a second one recently in an auction also for a bargain.  The ingots are drilled so would be under 1g if you ever extracted them, but I still like the concept
Here are two gold ingot watches to start.  Love to see what you have - share in the comments?

I would start at trying Google, but apart from that I probably can't help.
At least you will be at the right San José!

Yeah i'll be passing by San Jose (@LawrenceChard- it's the Costa Rican capital one) so yeah as I mentioned... any advice on where to buy and what is good to buy in terms of local coins will be helpful.

Any reccomendations on Costa Rican gold and silver coins and where to buy in San Jose?

Agree - only need to test if from an un-trusted source or if you have a reason to suspect.

This is overkill, the 3 PM dealers mention by you turn each month tens of thousands if not millions, none will put their reputation at risk for a few hundreds euros, regarding selling veritable coins/ bars (and yes I know that some have bad customer support).
If you buy from the secondary market,  especially fleebay, facebook or instagram, then yes testing is a must.

It is not quite as obvious as the previous ones.
I could always check. It must be better to have a denticle test than a testicle dent!
