Any reccomendations on Costa Rican gold and silver coins and where to buy in San Jose?

TSF shows your location as "Britannia".

San Jose is ambiguous. It could refer to

San Jose, California, United States
San José, Costa Rica

or any of more than 100 other places, none of which are in "Britannia":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_José

In fact "San Jose" without the acute accent is generally recognised as being the one in California (Do you know the way?)

Whereas most of the San Joses are actually San José with an acute accent.

As you presumably know where you are more accurately than anyone else on TSF, then it is likely that you are best placed to find the information you are requesting!

Yeah i'll be passing by San Jose (@LawrenceChard- it's the Costa Rican capital one) so yeah as I mentioned... any advice on where to buy and what is good to buy in terms of local coins will be helpful.

I would start at trying Google, but apart from that I probably can't help.

At least you will be at the right San José!

Update - for other members who will find this useful sometime...

There are at least 2 coin shops in San Jose:

  1. http://www.lapulperianumismatica.com/ Pulpería Numismática, El Carmen, San José Province, San José
  2. https://numistorecr.com/ NumiStore, Alondra, San José Province, San Vicente

Pulpería Numismática -

It's a very small shop with easy parking nearby.  Some interesting LATAM coins but mostly smaller sizes and denominations.  Price-wise the numismatic stuff seemed ok but the bullion was very pricey ($40 an ounce kind of thing) for basic ASE's and Canadian Maples.  They don't sell Gold.  I picked up a good grade 1933 Medallin mint Colombian 50 cents (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces20273.html) for a fair price.

NumiStore - online shop seems really decent, but I didn't try a vist to their actual shop...
