Finally have some time to post these recent additions. A stunning 2021 The Queen's Beasts Completer Five-Ounce Silver Proof! This size really accentuates the detail of the Queen’s Beasts designs from across the last five years.



And a couple of other Silver proofs from The Royal Mint...
Quite the intriguing design of the 2021 Alfred the Great £5 Silver Proof.



And also, an homage to “getting into mischief” with the 2021 Peter Rabbit™ One Ounce Silver Proof.



Oh, yeah, there was another, 2021 The Queen's Beasts Completer Silver Proof, this one in 1 oz. Still, comparatively, the 5 oz is the one!



And not silver, but liking the size of a good St. George and the Dragon, a George VI adding a 1951 George VI Crown.


 

While they look amazing, bars like these are for very rich people with a few million to spare, not really for folks to put half their life savings in. I'd personally would get rid of them at the first opportunity without making a loss and use half the proceeds to buy Sovereigns or Britannias .  

Tell that to delboy and rodders with their Victorian egg timer. 
Seriously I ended up doing it anyway mainly for insurance purposes. It took me ages routing through old receipts. I think if you put so much time and effort into something it's not much of a extra step to keep a record. 

I just put together my own spreadsheet. I haven't even been collecting that long, but I know that the longer I leave it the harder it will be to track down all the info. 
Moving to a new country is not an impossibility in the nearish future, so having a well documented record of everything will hopefully save me all kinds of headaches.
Also thinking of having a digital signature (PGP, or something) for each record so that I can 'prove' that this isn't just stuff I made up for the purposes of defrauding the taxman in whatever country it ends up.

Proofs carry such a huge premium we should expect the best, if not a perfect coin.

Same boat. I really wanted that 5oz but I am rather happy with the 1 oz proof, especially as it has none of the minting errors some of the previous proofs I've had from RM have had.

I would try to find a well regarded INDEPENDENT financial advisor and ask them. (I added the caps there. Very important to get impartial advice)
Seriously, it's a nice conversation to have on this forum, and plenty of us could give you advice, but at the end of the day, you need someone who you can tell in confidence all of your needs and requirements and goals and get good, professional advice in return.

If you were to buy the 5 ounce you'd not be far off paying for one coin what you paid for 10....wierd logic, one reason I settled for the 1oz proof..to add to, not to be lead by to the slaughter house.

I received the 1oz proof today, it’s a stunning design.
I just wish the 5oz had still been available but I’m happy with this.

My new favourite coin! It’s the bullion if you hadn’t guessed - couldn’t get the proof! Got a silver proof coming soon though!

My 1oz Gold arrived this morning, the forum seems to have been down a lot lately so just catching up on the thread on this one... 

I was on the site by chance when it was released, took a chance on this as I really liked the design but havn't collected any others in the series. 



 

Just arrived, took 3 days to get to Florida from Spain, USPS can take three days to get from Miami to Fort Myers...lol...Mintage of 555.
 

Ordered a 1oz silver proof. With around 7000+ being made I should get one. 
Was waiting for 9am and then at 8:57 got a call from office. Promptly forgot about the coins until 9:09. Waaaaay too late. 
Would have liked the 5oz, but the 1oz will do.

If the spot price of silver hit $1000 an oz, where would you sell?
I don't see the market for physical silver being liquid enough to absorb those prices if it ever happened. Everybody and his dog would probably be trying to dispose of their stack (unless the great reset really was around the corner). 
This kind of market distortion would be difficult to navigate. Just look at what happened with oil when it went negative.
