Yes, I think the mintage is too high as well. But here’s the difference as I see it. They’re sold by Britannia Coin Company who want a slice of the pie. They’re minted by the Commonwealth Mint who want a slice of the pie. And they’re commissioned by the Government of Alderney who want a slice of the pie. Hence the high mintage to ensure all 3 reap maximum reward.

My purchase from the Jan7th Coin Cabinet auction. I have all the kids birth year proofs now, so time to start concentrating on Victoria halfs and pre33 gold

RAM 2007 Gilded Silver 1oz Kangerolf   With a mintage of just 5525, this souvenir of Australia's favourite paedophile has had a rather volatile price history since it was first issued by the Royal Australian Mint. After steady rises in its value, a picture of "Can you guess what it is yet?" turbulence developed following the prosecution in 2014 of the avuncular TV Ozzie.   The wannabe vet was found guilty of serious crimes against art, music, song-writing and comedy. Prices tumbled across the numismatic world except in Germany - where it has long been established that none of these four concepts have been understood for over a hundred years. On the contrary, many serious criminals have become iconic figures in the Teutonic culture and this coin has achieved an almost cultish (sic) following in Saxony, the current mid-construction gulag capital of Europe. Rumours of continuous looping playbacks of "Two Little Boys" are being investigated by Amnesty International.   Many thanks to @CoinStruck for arranging delivery of this addition to my collection.   (My apologies for any unintended tagging, This is down to careless use of an earlier template - I have resolved the issue now.)

Received these back today. First time getting grading done. Really happy with the results. This grading business is a bit addictive. I was like a kid in candy store when I got them. Lol

Here is the 1923 South African mint proof sovereign, this one graded PF65 by PCGS. Mintage of only 655 coins.
I have been on the lookout for one of these for a while now. Thanks Eric @drakesterlingfor this one, I will be keeping this a core part of my proof sovereign collection.

The top 2009 bullion sovereign is from @BritanniaCoinCompany who once again provide great service.
The second 2004 Proof is from an ebayer seller where I’ve come to negotiate a price on dates I’m after, as proving reliable on them. So another 2 gaps filled in my kids date runs.

I didn't actually technically receive this, but... I went for a walk (local) with my dad and his dog today and we chatted for a while. He quite likes silver himself, in fact I got into it through him. On last weeks walk we got chatting about the Una & the Lion craziness. Today when we got back to his (I didn't go in, stood at the conservatory door with my mask on!) he said he had something to show me, then he produced this. Sorry about the photos but it was the best I could manage under the circumstances.

1kg proof. Gobsmacked. The most beautiful silver I have ever seen, let alone held. Great day!

My little additions back end of this week.
Another modern sovereign added to the date runs I’m doing care of the excellent service from @BritanniaCoinCompany
Couldn't resist a couple of Britannia privy’s @AgD put up either. This could be dangerous territory now, I feel the urge to collect other privy versions coming on, just when I though my date runs were completed 🙄😂

2018 RAM "25" Anniversary Privy Silver FrUnc Kangaroo   This coin is something of a quandary to me, The RAM confirmed to me last year that the 2018 Roobar - of which this coin was a part-  was released with a mintage of 1922 from a maximum 5000. I saw this coin available in two different locations...and so decided to make this my last VAT-free purchase from Germany. Needless to say, it got stuck in Europe before eventually limping its way home to me.   I await precise information from the Royal Australian Mint, having fired off an inquisitorial missive in their direction. Still, it has saved me any undue consideration as to how to display this roo.   Unlike the four "official" members of the "Seasons Change" series, this anniversary privy version sports the initials SMS of its designer, Stevan Stojanovic. Who he?   This 2018 "Summer" Skippy is probably the most pleasing of the four seasons and, in my opinion, the frosting makes for the FrUnc being more attractive than the Proof.
