As I said previously on this thread we had an allocation of 2022 Proof Sovereigns which we offered for pre-sale. We are not selling items we have not already secured and actually paid for.

Yep, so glad I did. Price was guaranteed and 100% sure I could shift it if I didn't like the design, although I personally plan on adding this to my others in my main collection to keep for the long term. Clive has been excellent in his comms, so no complaints from me at all

Hi all, I've just received an 1872 young head shield sov from the most recent TCC auction. I always have a quick look for detail and errors and happened to find this overstrike on the die number. Is this common? I don't expect it will do anything in respect of the value, but it would be nice to know for sure

This post has all but convinced me to buy this sov. Having a piece of history that you can hand to your family in years to come will be something that only a few thousand people can say about these particular sovs. I'm hoping the significance and difference in design make for them being sought after in the future as well.
Any views on whether to get the single sov vs the 3 Coin set? I'm tempted by both tbh and my gut tells me the single sov might be the better option.... Although don't ask me why!

Really helpful, thanks. Why not press refresh? Usually that helps in terms of letting you know when the content of the page changes. Without pressing refresh are you crossing fingers hoping that the que numbers appear at 9am?
Is it worth joining the website early? I have collected in other areas before and on one occasion was logged on for about 4hrs before the release. It was painful as you had to do a simple maths problem (eg,2+3) every 10 mins otherwise you were kicked from the que. Worth it in the end, but painful at the time
  11. Thanks
BiigT reacted to sovereignsteve in 2022 Sovereign design revealed?
I have found it variable, almost random.
At times when I have been logged on well before 9am, I have had a very low queue number but sometimes a high one. People have posted here that they logged on around 9am and been given a queue number well before me!
  12. Thanks
BiigT reacted to Zhorro in 2022 Sovereign design revealed?
I think when the queue length starts counting down it specifically says do not refresh.  I would guess that refreshing would put you to the back of the queue - but this is a guess.  Maybe have two pages open and do an experiment!  I think the queuing only starts at about 8.45am, so I don't see how you could get into it any earlier.

    Well, you asked...
You join the queue at about 8.45am (do not refresh). At 9am the queue length number appears.  Sometime between 9.01 and 9.16 you will be allowed to enter the website.  It is then a matter of trying to find what has been released.  You are not always directed to the new release even though you have been queuing for it. The shop options may not have been updated and so it may be necessary to put the name of the release into the Mint's search facility - thus you have now found the list of new products.  Last time (Panther) when I clicked on a product nothing happened and members of the Forum pointed out it was necessary to "Add to basket" in order to make a purchase.  At this point you are ready to go to the "Checkout".  A problem that sometimes incurs is that your bank may block the transaction (is the mint on their dodgy organisation list?) - in which case you may have to wait for the bank's anti-fraud phone call so you can prove you exist and are of sound state of mind.  Alternatively, if you wish to avoid this humiliation and stress, you may want to set up an account with the Royal Mint so that you don't have to input all your details each time and you can just press the payment button.  However, recently this system has been having problems and payments have been failing to go through.  This happened to me about two weeks ago and I had to end up phoning the Royal Mint for my order.  As this was not a release day, I did not have to wait too long to get through to a sales person.
So, I hope this helps, and good look with you next purchase!

Well I can only refer to my recent ordeal (Tudor beast panther) and I'd say your pretty much bang on. I was thrown out more times that a leprechaun at the funfair, then I just casually tried hours later with no expectation and surprise surprise one appeared. Then they sold out except they didn't as they reappeared hours later and as late as yesterday were still available??? So how they run their inventory or website I will never know.

To be honest, its a Sovereign here we're talking about not state secrets so I don't see what the big embargo is or the excitement because someone is teasing with what it will look like...

    Hi @BiigT
If you look earlier in the thread, I have posted the same error - 4 over 4 and 9 over 9.
I don't know how common this is, but it is not in Marsh or Bentley. I have seen this one go through LCA in 2015.....
The one I have does not appear to have R over B, but definitely has 4 over 4 and 9 over a lowered 9.

Gold chains don't come up that often on here you will see some here https://www.the-saleroom.com/
You will need to sign up for this and put bank card details in if you want to bid online.

BiigT reacted to Foster88 in Know of any good priced jewellers for gold chains?
If you are looking for as close to spot price. Don’t buy new, you’ll pay a large premium from a high street jeweller.
Your best option would be second hand, apart from looking at auctions you could look to put a ‘wanted’ topic in the sale part of the forum.
@ilovesilverireallydo occasionally sells chains on the forum, I bought a silver chain a few weeks ago. Maybe ask if they have any gold chains.
    I hope this helps.

@BiigTCorrect this set you are buying was released by Alderney mint. If you look at the Queen's portrait you will see it is different from the the Royal mint portrait of the Queen.
