For me it all started with this coin-
sometime around 2001 I found this in my change, years before the current 50p popular collecting, didnt realise that the designs of coins even changed at that time.
This chance find has lead me to be a collector, stacker, become interested in history, the precious metals market, markets in general, the refining and mining industry. To find out about other countries and encouraged me to travel. Introduced me to interesting people and ideas ( including on here). Helped me appreciate the value of things and become non- wasteful, and countless other benefits.
 

Gilded Silver Kangaroos 2004-2006   The RAM issued official "selectively gold plated" silver 1oz roos for just seven years, from 2003 to 2009. Although I am not a big fan of gilded silver coins, I felt that these seven just about merit a place in a complete collection...although I do draw the line at the felt-tip pen coloured cereal packet tokens.   The actual mintages of all three were quite similar to their proof counterparts,  - this translating into what I consider to be somewhat unjustified high prices outside Australia.   In summary, quite an attractive set but only worthy of purchase by avid agroophiles until prices fall.

The Yale, however looks a bit underwhelming.  I'm not sure if this is what you get for bullion grade, but no matter how I lit it or moved the camera, I couldn't get the 'warty goat' to look good.  Meh!   On the other hand, he obverse of the later QB's is definitely smarter with the anti-forgery milling round Her Maj's head making a really smart finish.

I got quite a few Nikon cameras very old and very new that I use for work, though the newer ones I am still getting the hang of.
