I know we got excited back in 2017 for the first silver proof Krugerrand ...but the quality issues became an issue and less hype followed in 2018 & 2019 with the subsequent releases. So this years first 2 ounce silver proof is the first SA Mint release that has caught my interest. I must say - I love it !! And before you ask ...mine arrived safely still in its capsule in the presentation box! That presentation box is still cheap looking ...but after all you buy these for the coin, not the box or paperwork 😉.

Today I received... and today I returned, a battered Prince Albert 2019 Celebration Sovereign from the Royal Mint. It was clearly a returned coin re-packaged and sold on for a premium. If these appear again on the Mints website, take my advise and do not order. It's the third coin I have ordered from the Mint and all three have been returned... really poor!
P.S. didn't even warrant a picture to show on here...

The cute little 3-pence has less wear than it's older brother, but it has been cleaned and not gradable.
The sixpence has nice tone and i need that variety. Maybe an AU-58.

I was going to do quiz on this but it would be toooooo easy....show the first pic and see who would get it..... everyone...Anyway, I finally got hold of a 1921 Perth sovereign, my first full one. I'm going to get a box/case for it , could someone tell me if the Royal mint screw caps are the same outside dia as normal 22mm caps?. Thanks... Pics taken with my iPhone and a couple of clip on lenses, one a macro and the other a 60x mini microscope... both very good for the money.
The other coin that arrived today is a Japanese 4 mon from about 1769 - 1817..I quite like the early Japanese coins, different shapes and sizes.
