 I am of the opinion that metals are a reasonably safe place to be invested when uncertainty prevails.
 

You would have received easily £1250 per piece for the griffins here. Similarly £1200 for the lion. For the dragon £1100. Now you sold those coins for melt value to a dealer. Great job, you got drilled twice instead of turning for profits.
Atkinsson will resell the griffins for £1350 and £1300 for the lion a piece. Easy money for them

I'm not 100% sure what Atkinson's offer over spot but with those queens beast im pretty sure on here or ebay you could have broke even with the difference or made profit. Especially with the Lion.

I don't believe they are competitively priced especially when the 2019 Proof Sovereign is still available from the Royal Mint for £450

Picked these little 1gm bars at today’s spot. 
These Malawi coin bars have been on my radar for a while, they are usually a set of 7 , missing the Roo, Maple and Libertad. Seen them go for decent money on fleabay. 
Also a small 9ct gun, because, well why not?

Today saw the arrival of my final cheap 2019 Sovereign from H&B, ordered via a good friend of mine....
Sad to see the offer come to an end - but it was great fun whilst it lasted 
 

Well I can't say that this 1/2 sov from eBay wasn't well packaged.

Lovely mix of fractionals, but super happy with the 1/4 Onza and the SA 1R both of which have been on my list for ages, both low mintage coins. 
Got the roo and the panda at spot so happy with that result too.

Received the new Destiny round "Mors Draco" proof and antiqued (the two on the right).
I was going for the complete set in antiqued, but picked up some proofs along the way.  Still deciding if I want to call it here or pickup the blacksmith and whatever comes next.

A prussian double crown in a rather impressive grade. 1888 is also the three emperor year with Wilhelm I marking the first Emperor to reign this remarkable year.

Certainly no where near the grade of the previous but still a decent condition.

I am really fond of South-East Asia culture and architecture. This year the Tiffany Art Serie has highligted Angkor Wat and the Khmer style. I didn't  know this serie before and I decided to order this release. This is a real shock as I have never seen such a beautiful coin, way way way above everything I have seen. Thanks to the the "Smartminting" technologie, we are able to get this incredible level of details and reliefs.
I have tried my best to highlight the coin and the details, but it was really chalenging as it was not with a macro lens ;  I had to shoot in low light to get what I wanted. With this low light, I need a large aperture (that softened the details, and narrowed  the depth of field), and higher iso to get a decent speed but creates noise...
I have managed to get some macros with my phone and a special macro lens, the pictures are not good, but you can see the incredible level of details, all in a 5 cm diameter. 
I am hooked by this piece of art and I am pleased to share it with you. I will definitely not flip it ! Grab it at the "low price" while you can if you are interested ...it really worths it

But condition rare – NGC has only 23 in MS64...

This wasn’t received today or even this year, but looking through some bullion I spotted this, think it’s a decent MS grade! Only a few small bag marks. Pity it’s not a very rare year
