Thanks to @BackyardBullion for creating this Gairsoppa shipwreck recovered silver hand poured bar and round.
The bar is just over 1kg at 1075g
The hammered round is also Gairsoppa silver at 5.05oz and is designed as a tribute to the Bombay Mint stamp on the orignal 1000+ oz bars sunk then recovered.
The wooden box is an ebay cheap one with a 3D printed insert I designed, printed then flocked for a smooth velvet feel.
The QR code takes you to BYB's pouring video on YouTube and it also contains a micro SD card with hi-res images, videos and forum links to the bars creation process for provenance.

I think this statement is quite right- everyone is entitled to make their own decisions in terms of pegging their product selling price.
But, I think people here are disappointed as they feel cheated as he/she wasn’t transparent in terms of this being a commercial venture- and essentially the Forum were taken for a ride in terms of being used as some kind of uninformed focus group.
For me, I really don’t see much value in the site- I had a quick look at it and it told me what I kind of already knew, give or take a quid or two.
I think comparison sites are fab for the drudge in life- insurance, life insurance, pet insurance, car insurance....snoooooze, 💤 💤  Boring.
For me, there’s nothing better than turning up a gem of a coin unexpectedly- much prefer finding stuff in the ‘real world’ - tat and antique shops, coin shops & fairs, antique fairs, auction rooms and from a friend of a friends Aunt....I could go on.
The internet has already sanitised  all of our lives- a couple of clicks less to buy simply dumbs life down further.
Just my opinion- the thrill of the chase keeps us on our toes and adds value to our individual collecting stories... any thoughts?

Lunar Series I finally complete and a 1997 Gold £2 bought from the Collectables category on eBay, using the 10% voucher, so came in 7% under spot. Hoping conservation can do something about the dark spot.

    oh wow. You think people who are unbanked as in the majority of Indonesia for one example, means they are unsophisticated? Please listen to this analysis of the people of Indonesia and you might begin to understand why Kinesis is being rolled out there as a perfect fit for their innovative and ultra-capable nation;

If this guy had come to the forum before selling he would have had a wall of advice - most of it would be not to sell. Everything he was thinking was upside down. This is not a position of hindsight - we told him at the time and we were right - time has proven that.
The moral of the story is take advice from the sages of the Silver Forum. We have many years of experience and knowledge.

    Awesome stuff @S2G
I had a quick look when you posted the original link and it's now a vast improvement and extremely useable.
If I ever use it when making a purchase, i will certainly send a donation and I would urge everyone else to do the same. it's only fair and the right thing to do.

… the initial results and stark consequences of my front-loading, year-to-date, pre-Brexit bullion purchasing strategy, in anticipation of a possible end to the availability of cheap and/or VAT-free silver in the UK.

Most of this was acquired before the original March 29th exit date from the EU. So, pretty good timing … with the benefit of hindsight.
Anyway … as of now, 76 more days (at least) to add to the pile!
Consequences? … Urgent trip to B&Q required, to buy more robust cutting tools for the ‘great unboxing’ that lies ahead!

The means to produce credit arguably has value, but still the currency generated as credit does not have any value. The relative stability of the number of currency units has value, but only for its use as a measuring stick against actual goods, services, time. The need to pay taxes in currency also does not make currency valuable - currency is only the means to exchange the value of a portion of your time/effort/sales/goods/ to the government as efficiently as possible. Your time is the value. Your goods sold are the value. Your effort and innovation is the value - a portion exchanged into government spending on services or goods (welfare usually) - other value - via currency. Currency is extremely efficient at the transfer of value, but it is not valuable in itself.
As HH keeps saying there is nothing inherently valuable about currency. The problem is people who use currency. They measure items of exchange in terms of currency, they value their time in terms of currency, most people can recite the price of many many items in their currency. It is not the fault of currency that the end result is people incorrectly associating currency with value.
The means that government takes its taxes is the same measure that they steal from people who save in currency - why are they saving in currency is the question to ask. Don't they know its worthless?

    Basically, yes.
Until you hold a lot of it and you see swings of £1000 plus every day. Then you don't sleep so well.
It's human nature to convert those those swings into (worthless) goods.
I have my 'gurus' on the forum and I'm advised to hold, so I will.
