Not sure that is even legal in the UK. And certainly something that wouldn't be allowed on TSF, before anyone gets any fast making money ideas 😄

    Welcome aboard james.
Firstly, there's nothing wrong with a 10g bar, that's a very healthy start. If you are only buying because you think they are safer than coins, they are not unfortunately. Please make sure to buy from a reputable source, someone on here with good feedback and activity levels ( unfortunately carded gold is heavily faked) and can easily fool new stackers, due to it being carded and and our unwillingness to remove from packaging.
Sovereigns or 1/4oz britannias are another option and CGT free, whilst they may make you nervous now, as long as your buy from the correct sources ( your effectively buying their experience too) so there nothing to worry about, as long as you do your due diligence.
Coins also offer a learning experience, the history and you learning to measure and weigh them etc,it's all part of the fun.
Any help needed whatsoever and don't be shy to ask, there's someone on here with the answer to the question yet to be asked.

Not sure what you looking for as an answer, people commented on the photo as that's the best way of judging if the coin you are talking about appears fake. If its a general quest, again people have asked why do you think this particular coin? There is a chance that all coins could be be fake, if some one has faked them. Even if not at the time of original releaseor any time in the last 100 years'ish.... are you hoping for a response of yes 100% some people have specifically faked a 1925 SA hald Sovereign?

I am a new to it too (bought my first sov this week). As a fellow newbie I decided to go for full sovs rather than half sovs just because it works out better value with the premiums.
Depending where you are buying from, 2 halfs could cost quite a bit more than 1 full so better to wait until you can get 1 full imo.
As for ease of future selling... It seems like sovs are very liquid.

    Photo Essay: Gillicks
I've not got a huge collection of sovs, a dozen or so at the moment, but after some faffing about I've finally got to the point where I can get pics that are reasonably good - good enough at least.
We've got decent focus across the whole surface through focus stacking and a lighting setup that shows the coins lustre.  Lighting is from below, reflected on some white cardboard over the camera mount, and from the side pointing down from the top of the coin.

And £270 is extortionate for a sovereign which is only half gold!

Not via their profile (unless clicking on activity and browsing through, will show their other content though)
You can however search/make a custom activity stream to see content from a specific member, thee can also be saved.
Example, going to the U.K. & Europe new topic activity feed here: https://www.thesilverforum.com/discover/347/?&stream_date_type=relative&stream_date_relative_days[val]=31&stream_date_relative_days[unit]=d

I’ve graded 35-40 2022 proof sovereigns, just got my 5 coin set back this week  I have sold lots between £800-950 the £5 sovs fetch 5.5-6k and sell very fast.

It all depends on what grade you get, proof sovereigns grade well and you are unlucky if you get a 69.

if you need to know anything else just give me a pm, I have done loads of grading for guys here.

Picked this up today.  Maybe not as big a deal in UK, but a bit harder to find in US in such nice condition .  Just wanted to share and maybe gloat a bit.
