I am selling one of my Australian sovereigns this one out of the Melbourne mint graded by NGC as MS62. It also comes with a Royal Mint certificate of authenticity. It was purchased for £695.00 but I am selling it for £650.

Sherabnamdhak got a reaction from Griffo in Dealers asking for identification details AFTER payment?
The reason for checks at £5,000 and £10,000 is not the sellers requirement,  it is simply a compliance issue from the UK financial regulators re money laundering. It is similar to the requirement by your bank if you deposit £5,000 plus in cash. You are required to provide identification. Remember these are companies and if they do not comply they can be prosecuted. As far as I am aware private sales are still unregulated.

Sherabnamdhak reacted to LawrenceChard in Red v Yellow Colour Gold Sovereigns - Silver v Copper Alloy Content
It is almost universally agreed that gold sovereigns, together with multiples and fractions would look better yellow by adding some silver to the alloy, rather than the modern coppery red colour created by using only copper in the alloy, and no silver.
I have frequently commented on it, and produced XRF alloy analysis as evidence that there was always silver in older sovereigns, and that the absence of silver, producing red gold coins is a recent (since about 1957) aberration.
There are many threads on TSF which mention this, and also infomation and blog pages on the Chards website.
On Thursday 23rd September, I wrote an e-mail to Anne Jessop and two other members of the Royal Mint management team, stating the case for adding silver, and doing so as early as in the anticipated 2022 Royal Coat of Arms sovereigns.
I was pleasantly surprised to get a response as early as the next day, but it was only from one of the recipients letting me know they had forwarded it to a more appropriate member of their team. Following that, I had been expecting a substantive response shortly afterwards, even if it was to say "no", or "thanks". It has been almost three weeks now, and a thought just occurred to me, that the delay and absence of response may just be because I have hit a proverbial nail on the head, and that they are about to issue yellow gold sovereigns with some silver content, in which case, they would not wish to pre-empt their embargo or announcement. Or perhaps they are mulling over my suggestion...
    Any bets?

    Hi there,
I’ve just joined the forum. I joined with the intention of buying coins, but may possibly look to sell in the future. I heard about TSF by watching Backyard Bullion videos, which I’ve watched many of.

Last year the Bank of International Settlements (boss of all central banks) wrote that gold will be now be treated as a Tier 1 asset. And the central banks have been purchasing physical gold for years like never in history. So.... gold will be a winner in the future! They are the insiders, why would they buy something that will lose in value?
Same goes for silver. JP Morgan would not buy physical silver if they knew it wouldn't go up big time!

Received today my first U.S pre 1933 gold. A 1910 D $10 Indian Head and 1911 S          $5 Indian head. Out of curiosity any experts out there know why the $10 has a more matte finish and slightly coppery look to it then the other. The $5 doesn't look like it's been cleaned either as their is still patina to it. Both coins weighed and pinged and no problems. Thanks

    Two more packages arrived today.
One has a 1974 sovereign I purchased on eBay for a little above spot price. Happy with it and will probably have it graded.
The second package contained the 1963 sovereign graded MS65 and the 2017 Indian sovereign MS69 (am only missing the 2014 Indian).

These have been delivered mostly over the last few days from @MikeSol. I forgot to thank you for the DF Airtite capsule - thank you, Mike.

I purchased an LED magnifying glass recently, it gives some interesting results when taking photos:

I also purchased some lovely "junk"from Mike:

My OCD wouldn't allow me to have $1.75 in quarters so off to eBay I went for this rather worn example:

Last but but not least, a 1904 London Eddy   bullion sov:
