2013 Silver Proof Britannia 5-Coin Collection   Although this Britannia design is not high up on everybody's list, its simplicity makes it my own personal favourite. Actual mintage 3087.   The set was an extremely reasonable price and, aside from a little hazing on the 1/10th and 1/20th ozt coins, was otherwise immaculate.

My very first 1oz of gold piece. Hopefully more to come… suit’s my collection very well!

Recent grading results- The silver ones!
It’s been a bigger submission than normal for me so I thought I’d give a shout out to Karl 1817 - The Modern Sovereign Collector for his help getting them graded. It’s taken a while to get them posted as I had the little matter of getting married last weekend 💒🥳.
I think imho the design of the year is Gary Breeze design - 5oz silver QE2 95th Birthday. Glad to see that’s come back top pop. Anyone who hasn’t seen it up close, I’d recommend you do so. It’s a real standout.
As I’ve mentioned to a few friends on the site, I think the diversity Britannia is great design too, perhaps second only to Gary Breezes above. It’s a coin which given its limited mintage and being the first 2oz silver Britannia, will be a key coin in the future...so I got a few. Many of which were bought from tsf members. Thanks for that 👍. Most came back 70 with a couple of 69s. I’ve posted just one for brevity.
The other pics are of the two coin Britannia silver sets - the £2 silver reverse & proof Britannias. Im looking to pick up the reverses for 2016-2020, so if anyone wishes to sell theirs please get in touch. I’d also consider a swap should that be preferable. Anyway enjoy!

Came across this invoice and thought it was worth sharing.

20 Gillick head sovereigns and a 1oz Krugerrand for a total of £591.49. I'm guessing 1 sovereign was £25 x 20 = £500, leaving the 1oz Krugerrand at £91.49. Those were the days.....

Some gold from SVcollector. 

When prices started going up in the last couple of months, I was not far from my silver target and quite far from my gold one. Silver started rising later, so I have tried to accumulate as much as I could. Now they are both up but I am noticing something strange: although the increases in gold tend to reflect immediately in prices, the ones in silver come with a delay. I can still find some good deals in silver, although not as often as before.
Has anyone else noticed that? One explanation is that premiums in silver are higher, so there is always some room to play with. Other opinions?

Thanks. I started collecting gold in 1997, and was attracted to virtually everything; sovereigns, proof sets, and bullion. However, I never gave much thought to premiums etc, I simply paid the going price for whatever I fancied! Probably passed the 1 kilo mark in 2017, have now stopped collecting, but still enjoy looking and following the latest on the Forum. Being an old style collector I have never bought anything as an investment, but of course would make a  substantial profit if sold. Terms such as flipping, stacking and 'exit strategies' were completely alien to me! I have never sold a single gold coin. Inadvertently, the medium to long term, if it was an investment, has worked for me without even noticing it.
By buying what you like, you might be surprised in a few years.....!

90oz of Kookaburra proofs. I was searching for the 2000 set for quite a time now, finally got it. For me one of the best Kookaburra designs ever made. With a low mintage of 266 only it’s very welcome to my collection.

Received this 1996 2 oz Kook privy mark in today. For several years now its been relatively easy(for the most part) to find any privy kook you were were after on ebay. Even if you had to wait a couple of months, it would show up eventually. Now its getting harder and harder to find some of these as time goes by. 

Two more fractional gold from 1967, won in different auctions: Turkey 50 Kurush and Mali 10 Francs.
 

My latest submission to NGC came back. Really surprised with my first 70 (and an MS!) and very happy. 🧐
