My first 5 coin set, the 5 sovereign looks magnificent. 🥂

The postie just delivered this bullion. i think the design shows best on the double.

Second delivery of the day, aside from the booklet looking as though it was treated with as much care as a jizz rag I think the coins are in good order. I do think the design is ruined on the quarter, half and surprisingly even ghe full.
 The big 5 piece is magnificent, the double adequate but truthfully, with it in hand....I'm not a fan. Sad to say after all this time waiting, and I know it's not the concensus opinion, but its too much. The actual portrait of the king is fantastic though 

Disappointing.  

My assessment of the 5 Coin Memorial Set I received today:
All the coins have the obligatory sneeze marks/ Welsh dust and some of those hairy strands all of which, I can live with.
The 5 Sovereign has a couple of hairlines on the Obverse- ‘now you see it, now you don’t’ type, and two odd looking circular marks what I suspect are shallow, but noticeable scratches, one on the Obverse in the field at the foot of the X of Rex and on the Reverse in the field at around 1 O’clock.  
The 2 Sovereign looks ok.
The Sovereign is ok’ish- has a couple of shiny specks in the frosting and a couple of pinprick missing bits of frosting.
The Half is similar to the Sovereign and frankly, I haven’t bothered inspecting the 1/4- after all, they aren’t  a Sovereign to my mind. 
It’s definitely a very special Sovereign Set, the Reverse design is fantastic and a distinguished Portrait of the King. 
If the 5 Sovereign was perfect- I would keep this set, despite the shortcomings of the lower denominations- but there’s 5,595 reasons to send the set back for exchange.

Last but not least... haven't checked properly yet as I've had a great delivery morning ( and not looking to be in a bad mood 🤣)
First impression.. packaging has improved. Sovereign box absolutely stinks..so it's literally not long been lacquered.
Coins are not even facing the right orientation, so obviously been rushed.
Will take a better look tomorrow, but impressed so far. Surprisingly the smaller coins hold/show the details very well. It's a busy coin for sure,but one that should grow on us!

Haven’t posted in a while. Haven’t been buying much but thought I’d share this. Picked up my 2022 Plain Edged Piedfort Platinum Jubilee Pattern Sovereign from NGC this week. I sent it off for “Plain Edge” to be added to the label to clearly differentiate from the reeded edged version. I always say that we don’t truly appreciate QE2’s reign because we’ve lived through it but she will be revered in years to come and this is an amazing representation of her achievements. With only 70 minted, I’m super chuffed to own one of these as there are so few. This will be locked away together with the 2oz Completer (probably my favourite ever coin design) and 1oz 2014 Britannia 🤤. Massive shout out to @Clockpuncher for this one

They managed to keep it on January schedule, just.
 

Do not and I repeat do not..move that half sov into an air-tite, no matter how careful,you have literally just wiped the premium away 😂 it's ok on world gold that don't attract much of a premium on here...but not something you bought as an investment.

As a Big JWST fan I had to pick these stackers up. I'm reluctant to remove from the OMP otherwise would have been cool to stack them.
That's a little pin I wear in the middle. 

And always loved the Aztec calendar theme and this is another stacker that is very impressive! Pictured here with my 5oz copper one.

With all these investments at this pace in 2022 and the rising price of gold, it's maybe time to not be so tempted again and make some economy by slowing down the investment, at least for Collection coins (I am aiming for bullion and liquid coins however)
Even if I would love a special and nice design such as the WW St George or a nice Pistrucci design for the next GE, especially with the last QEII, I am secretly hoping it will not be iconic  enough to pass my turn this year 

Very happy with the King's arrival in the colonies!
Only took 2 weeks! Can be 4-6 weeks sometimes.
Is the packaging slightly excessive? 5 boxes, like opening a Russian doll, or 'pass the parcel'!
