I don't know where the market for Gold Unas is, and only auctions give us a clue. The price asked by this Japanese dealer is very interesting, but this is the buyers who will make the price. £ 75,000 is just wishful thinking at the moment. But at these levels, there are certainly flippers who would be motivated to arbitrate their Gold Una for +50 ounce of gold.
Of course, if demand remains strong and the Unas remain in strong collectors hands, then we could witness even more amazing prices in the future.
The second in the serie could even boosts the prices of these Unas, both gold and silver. (Think that 3000 mintage is low for such a classic design, and moreover with a lot of defective coins, this could strongly increase their desirability) . In my opinion, unlike other series, whatever the quality or the interest for the second design to come will be, the Una is a design so powerful that it will shine on its own.

€623,83 / kg. A few euros more expensive, but a more beautiful design:

Where were you when we needed you?
Back in 2008/9, we collected 3.2 tonnes of Perth Mint Australian silver coins from the airport.
We hired a 7.5 tonne GVW lorry, which I was covered to drive on my licence. We were borderline legally loaded, 7 pallets evenly spaced.
Unloading it at our old place on Lytham Road was interesting. It was evening when we arrived with it. Duncan slashed the plastic shrinkwrap of the bundles, handed them down to me, I trucked them across the pavement to our front door, Jane stood in our airlock, opening and closing it for me, moving it through the inner door when we could. It worked well.
There is a pub opposite, many locals were outside drinking, and we heard some shouts like "Eh up, lads, t'gold bars have arrived". We had no security issues, but then Duncan is about 6'4'', well built, and looked quite daunting standing on the back of a wagon wielding a Stanley knife.

Thanks Paul
Good buying and investing though! Them were the days £175 for a sovereign! Do you remember there was only about 10 of us on the forum per day and it was a competition who could get the cheapest gold.

Let's have it again:
The secret to mastering the markets is very simple but also paradoxically hard: just find a bull market, get long, sit on it, and have the patience to ride out the corrections
Gold is undoubted in a bull market. Get long, sit on your hands, and enjoy the ride. It's early days. We are still the the "Stealth" phase where it's basically overlooked by everyone except the people who follow it closely. We still have to reach the institutional phase, never mind the public awareness or mania stage. You will know when its time to get out because by that time gold will be a very popular investment by the mainstream.

Is this the last coin, or is this fantasy?
Caught in a Mint 'queue', can't escape web reality
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see
May be a poor strike, we'll get no sympathy
Mintage 'easy come, easy go'
Far too high, far too low
So nevermind the mintage
Doesn't really matter to me, to me
The Mint, just $%^&ed up release
Put 'Innovations' on the coin
I pulled the trigger, now its mine
Mama - series just began!
But now they've gone and thrown it all away all of us are going to make a shedload of money on the first one
Royal Mint, ooh, ooh
You didn't mean to make me cry
But if I'm not back again next time for the next 'proof'
Carry on, carry on as if QC doesn't matter
Too late, the coin has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Quality's lacking all the time
Goodbye everybody, I've got to grade...
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth!
Mama, ooh (anyway the grade goes) I don't want to sell
I sometimes wish I'd never bought this at all!
Etc etc etc (radio version edit fades out here ).

I see the minimum price on Ebay since today for a silver Una is £350... it is increasing by the day, and the lowest priced ones are being snapped up very quickly... this coin is rapidly appreciating on the secondary market.
Remember the 2016 Peter Rabbit 50p silver proof.. it is now valued at £800 by Spink catalogue, and that's what they go for on Ebay, consistently. IMO this silver proof Una is a MUCH nicer and sought after coin than the Peter Rabbit 2016 50p.... so can we expect its value to eclipse the rabbit's £800 in the next few years?
Another thing in favour of this Una silver is that I very much doubt it is something that could come out annually, or with some variations. This must be strictly a one-off...

Picked up this 1977 Gold Proof Cyprus £50 coin at a reasonable price. Its in great condition, some very very light surface scratches perhaps where someone wiped it with a cloth but overall very good. Prob a PF67-68 after conservation I would hope.

I'v just ordered a few of the Star Wars stamp and coin sets, after seeing your post.
Quite a low mintage of 750 so should be a good buy!
