Update from the RM - got a phone call first thing, this morning:
Apparently as this was my first "high-value" order with the mint, they couldn't / wouldn't accept card payment, only Bank Transfer... I will admit to not reading their terms and conditions fully, so was unaware of this restriction. I have no idea what constitutes high-value or how I should have performed this online order correctly. Either way, they should make this much clearer on the site. I am aware of some anti-fraud and anti-money laundering requirements within financials, so it could be that.
Next up, they apparently tried to contact me (via email) to explain and make the Bank Transfer, but I didn't respond! There is no email (yes, I checked the spam folder), and they definitely have my correct details, considering I have the original order acknowledgement emails, and delivery emails from previous orders.
I have accepted their apology and they reinstated my original order, now fully paid by Bank Transfer. I just hope I'm not going to get someone else's return  - I'll keep you posted.
 
Lessons learned:
It's always worth calling the Royal Mint for an update on your order. I was quite happy to sit back and wait, but an earlier update in this thread about potential January delivery prompted me to make a call to confirm. I felt bad, last night... imagine if I had waited until next year! Read the small print (if it exists) - gonna check now The members of this forum are absolutely top class (big thanks to @AndrewSL76 and @CaptCaveMan) @GoldDiggerDave - you are a gentleman and I'm looking forward to many more deals with you, in the future

I have been looking for this coin for about a year now but our dealers that had it in stock were asking silly money even up to £2,000
Managed to buy from the RM today at a fair price at long last.

One of the real benefits of supporting the Silver Forum when information and deals like this are quickly shared.

For low premium and fast resale gold ( full sovereigns) plus they are CTG free.
Every once in a while treat yourself to a nice coin or bar ( you have to keep it interesting otherwise boredom could kick in)
Always think of resale as much as possible and that will steer you well.

Oh well....called the mint again today to check as I'd still not had an email after my call yesterday.
Well it turns out I'm not getting the gold after all, it was already sold out but the site hadn't updated quick enough. Still, it's money saved I suppose and I did get the silver double set so can't really complain.

That is approximately an increase of 284.615% which sounds quite tempting at first ? 
But lets say that you woke up late and missed the chance to buy on the RM site so instead made yourself a coffee watched a bit of TV then checked on your Crypto buying from the day before to see what the losses or gains were ?  On checking that the £260 worth of Synex Coin had increased by 1791.42% in 24h and now sitting at £4917.69 🚀
After a quick glance through Lambo monthly it was decided to hold strong for a few days until a cash purchase could be made for that Italian beauty 😂 😂

Well my good luck of today hasn't continued enjoying a pint at the end of launch day and picking names hasn't worked for me my run of good luck ended by the look of it lol 

well got number 69 in the queue. Hopefully got what I want and could have got the gold if I wanted to bankrupt myself but for the first time I have not done it  

I was on RM site for half8, patiently waited, did it all by the book. At 9am I was placed circa 1600 in the queue.
I wanted the 5oz silver but would have been happy with the 2oz.
By 9:30 it was obvious I wasn't going to get the 5oz, but I stayed on for the 2oz. I was still around 400 in the queue when people started to say it was a sell out.
Not my day for silver. 
I did treat myself to a 1984 sov (birth year). So all things considered, I'll go to bed happy.
Let's be honest, the fact we are all in the position to even contemplate spending these kinds of sums on coins, means we must doing something right!

It's all part and parcel of the amazing royal mint experience,who wouldn't want to sit in a que for hours or get terrible quality goods you have to send back six times
 

Only been stacking a few months so not got much of a stack yet. Gonna stack gold now and have a sovereign coming in the post.

The last two 2oz Gothic crowns have sold on feeBay this past hour for a £1000 each

I ended up securing the 2oz silver and the pre order for the portrait 2oz. Wanted gold but very pleased to have finally bagged something after disappointment last year. 
Quite the day, was also doing royal mail online training and had 2 customer service calls going at one point!
The royal mint was pretty unclear what was what, ended up ordering both a single coin and the two coins with one now one pre order thinking they were each different - then spent an hour on the phone getting the single canceled. 
Time for a relax before my first day on the job delivering mail in storm barra😂
