I am not 'aiming' any of this comment at yourself @272, I'm just using your post to explain a point
They've been doing this since at least I started buying (2016). Many (most/all?) of their terrible/worst releases have had QC stickers.
They've also been producing many flawless coins over the same period.
So, I'm rather shocked to be reading some long-term customers of the Mint say on here that they've been listening to feedback, have upped their game etc - that could be misleading to newer customers/collectors imo. It's ONE release. That they HAD to get right. They did. They did the basics of their job (that they charge a huge premium for). We shall see with the rest. I'm delighted that folk are delighted with the first (not my cup of tea - I'll settle for the BUNC) but there's a long five years of Royal Mint 'QC' ahead.

Where please? I am after an unlimited amount of 1/4 bullion Lions and Griffins 'not much over their original prices' and I'll take a few 1/4 Dragon proofs as well - thanks in advance

kimchi reacted to Allgoldcoins in 2022 Sovereign design revealed?
The Sovereign release seems to be around the middle of November, as that is the embargo time the Mint have set. I have seen the design today, and it is very close to those put forward on here, but I will not say anymore. It looks like prices will be very similar to recent years so no massive price hikes.
My understanding but not confirmed as yet is that we are awaiting the Great Engravers coin this month, so before the sovereign.

I think that's it, at least till the end of the series. Maybe than we will see a 11 coin set with the Completer coin, a 1/4 OZ reverse proof gold set, or a full set 2 OZ dated 2026.... For now the 1 OZ has a mintage of 7010, the RM issue was limited to 6000. So there was a "sign" for another Release in this denomination. The 2 OZ was a limited Edition of 2000 coins, the mintage is 2006. 5 OZ 300 / 306, 10 OZ 150 /156 mintage... The six 2,5 and 10 OZ silver coins that could be also minted are propably for the RM museum. Same with the gold proofs. Just six to ten coins higher mintage, than the RM edition.

Here's a thought. I assume that almost everyone buying these proofs will sign up for the series so the mint will surely make at least as many coins as this first beast, I would be surprised if they then didn't make extra to sell individuals, is there potential for these to end up with very high montages and really not be rare?

Sorry if that sounds thick but I'm quite new to this. Did they do a similar subscription for the queen's beasts?

I had a problem last week.  It was the first time I had bought something via my Royal Mint account which I set up after my previous purchase (in the past I had just entered all my details, including payment details, each time I had bought something).  Anyway, this was the first time I had tried to order via my account (to save the hassle of entering all these details each time), and of course, when I got to the confirming the payment button, it said "payment failed" - so I am guessing it was the same message as this.  What was frustrating was that it was not even giving me the chance to physically re-input my payment details - I just seemed to be in a rejection loop.  So, I phoned the Royal Mint and explained what had happened and I had to place my order that way. The guy on the phone was saying I was not the first person that morning to have this problem.  So, there was obviously some glitch.  The only thing he asked me for was the three digit security number on the back of the card, and the payment then seemed to go through.
This is not the sort of problem you would want if you were scrambling to buy one of the forthcoming Gothic coins!

This bug has to do with your address. I've been plagued by this for over a month on the BU side and of course right around the launch of the Tudor. Double check your address and or delete it and add it back. Hopefully that will do the trick for you.

As far as I've read so far they've said there will be bullion coins but I don't think specific sizes have been mentioned. That being said the QB 2oz coins were such a hit I think its a safe bet they'll do them for this series.
In the QB series I personally preferred the bullion and if the design goes the same way I might form the same opinion for these. The proof QB coins looked plain in comparison to the bullion ones given the lack of any background on them. That being said the frosted proof finish is lovely. I also hope they keep on with the 10oz bullion as although I had no interest in collecting the set of those coins in that format I did buy my favourite ones since that larger format was amazing for the details. We'll see what comes!

How could i think, that there could be a RM issue without a LPM Exclusiv. A 2 Coin Proof/Reverse Frosted 1 OZ Seymour Panther is on it's way...

Agreed. I think if RM agreed to replace it, it would likely mean waiting for the late November batch... I might just ask for the refund, since these coins come with such baggage that causes some degree of hassle and stress.

Unfortunately for me, my 2oz silver needs to be returned 😔
as you can see in the photo, there is a contact mark to the right of 2022. I’m 99% certain it’s not a piece of debris.
i say 99 because the capsule is on so tight that I cannot remove it, leaving a 1% chance that it might actually blow away with a hair dryer…
it matters not anyway, because I can see a number of very small milk spots that can barely be seen without a loupe. My photography skills and equipment aren’t good enough to show the milk spots but here’s the scratch by the date.
I guess I’ll take the rest of the weekend deciding whether to request a replacement or just a refund.
