I have a bit of a confession and cautionary tale, I asked earlier what a 2005 proof full sovereign would be worth/ value , there was good advice and I had done my own research, thus when I left a speculative bid on a 2005 coin on e bay I did not expect to win it in fact , so much so I did not have the funds to buy it at my max bid  if I won ! yep I won it , so I have had to arrange mr credit card ( 0% interest on purchases) to pay it . caution , don't get obsessed   and leave speculative bids if you don't have the funds :D I am sure this is just me and a one off anyway ( I hope )

Ive been doing this for 1 month now, I have the same sovereign as you.

I have gathered a fair bit of Silver and a MS69 1/20th Gold panda in that month but the Sovereign is my favorite by far.

I see it as a start of a sovereign journey.

For me its not the value don't get me wrong I do take it into consideration. But some things I buy because I like them. I do like my collection to have there original boxes. That's why Ive ordered one from India.

It is a bit naughty removing the contents from its packaging and charging £19 to get the original COA.

To be fair it was very good price not much more than a normal sovereign and a lot more on e bay still think it was a very good deal

It won't be too much of a deal with collectors of every variation of the 2017 sovereign but it's wrong that the boxes are removed only to be charged as an extra for what buyers have already paid for.

To be fair it was a very good price for it anyway not much more than a normal sovereign and much much better there a lot more money on e bay
