In the foreground of the photograph above is my 1817 Sovereign.  Not sure which compliments what?  The Set complimenting the 1817 or the 1817 complimenting the Set?

Very sad for the genuine collector who missed out during the melee this morning and there will be many. A very elderly collector friend i have just called me in despair asking about buying one secondary market and i told him to forget about it, in fact i felt that sorry for him for one moment i thought of selling him mine but then reality kicked in.

I feel extremely fortunate to have been Graced the opportunity to acquire this wonderful and iconic Sovereign.

From the 2021 annual set that was released a couple of months ago.

Quite surprised that this hasn't got much coverage but with my current focus on Ghanaian legal tender coins I stumbled across this beautiful gold note, "The Liberty Gold Cedi", the 1st major government in the world to issue a gold note using Aurum© technology created by Valaurum, the same company that create the Goldback notes.
In 2019, Ghana officially surpassed South Africa as the largest producer of gold on the African continent. The output of 4.8 million ounces of gold in Ghana surpassed the 4.2 million ounces produced in South Africa, the first time that a nation other than South Africa was the leading producer of gold on the continent. So to mark this they decided to issue these notes. They are only available in the US but I had to get a few. Paid an arm and a leg for them. There are 10,000 of them minted but a limited run in these presentation packs.

Today, my quarter oz gold proof, celebrating the Queen's 95th birthday has arrived!
