I got given some coins today by my mum who acquired them when my auntie died. Most of them I think (after a bit of an internet search) are not really worth much, however, this one seems to be different. If anyone who has more knowledge than me would like to give their thoughts then it would be very much appreciated. TIA.

Hi all, total newbie here so be kind lol. I've just started on the stacking/collecting journey and have managed to aquire a few tidy coins (I think) in the exceptionally short time that I've been doing this. A 2022 proof sovereign amongst them. My main aim is for long term investment, so buying and keeping for 20 or so years and then selling to realise a profit. I've seen a coin on the Royal Mint website which I like for it's own sake. The Alfred the Great, so, my question, would this coin be worth buying ftom an investment point of view, how can you tell which coins are worth buying since, as far as I'm aware Una and the Lion didn't sell out straight away, and that series has turned out to be something special. Whats to say that this coin won't also? just after a bit of advice. cheers.

Greetings from Wales, I'm a total beginner as far as collecting/stacking goes. For some reason I bought some small gold bars from Bullion by Post (probably not the best place to buy from!) a few weeks ago. I got a Pamp 1g and 5g, once they arrived I suddenly got the bug! I've now got a Nadir 1 oz silver bar, 2 x 2021 silver Britannia's a 2021 1 oz silver Krugerrand and a 2021 1 oz silver Panda. My Mrs thinks I've gone a bit nuts lol. I haven't really got a clue what I'm doing so joined this forum in the hopes of learning how to collect and stack properly without getting ripped off. I originally thought of it as an investment but really like the look of the coins I've got so wouldn't mind collecting too, but as I said I know f~*$ all! Any advice along the way would be gratefully received. Cheers
P.S Are proof coins/sets worth buying from an investment point of view or are they just for collectors who like them?
