I like some of the products that the RM produces but I really don't like their online buying process and the quality of the product and/or service that I have received from them when buying directly can charitably be described as 'variable'.
Consequently, I buy directly from the RM either if they are the only dealer/maker who can currently supply the product that I want, or if they are significantly cheaper than all other UK dealers for that product.
So my advice to the RM would be: listen to the feedback that you receive, keep making interesting and nicely-designed coins and bars, try your hardest to maintain excellent quality standards, try to improve the timeliness of your customer service, and above all - overhaul your ridiculously hateful website buying process so that you don't have to pre-load your account with money before you can actually buy anything.
I just want to log in to my account, add items to my basket, proceed to checkout and then pay by debit or credit card.  Exactly as I can do with Atkinsons and BBP.  Thank you.

Indeed. I reckon the science behind the emotions of trading are far more interesting than charts.  Although you can’t beat big fat supply and demand .
You would get chaps trading Brent in the old open outcry pits of CME or whatever it was called thinking they had a handle on it .

The media can turn a wave into a ripple or tsunami so it's worth knowing what the financial pages will print tomorrow more then what the fed do today...one reason piers morgan got the sack when he was editor, betting on what he was going to print the next day

Very true. Charting can only really ever give a little bit of probability guidance and that's all.  Prices and emotions usually don't turn suddenly on a dime, which is why the price doesn't rise or fall in a straight line.  The five waves described in Elliot can be seen as emotional states.  Just like in real life, Things take time to sink in and doubters take time to be converted into believers and ice versa.  This is why I like the elliot wave theory as a guide.  But it's only a very rough guide of course, and unlike the "professionals" you describe, I've actually got skin in the game!

I’ve always found a chartist can make any chart tell you whatever you want , mess around with the X axis to include or exclude what you do or don’t want .
change the scales to add drama or reduce it.  I worked with this mob for 30 years at a bank.  They never had any skin in the game and the stock excuse when it all went tits was  along the lines of  ‘resistance has been broken the uptrend is over and we expect a downward channel to form from (get another graph out with a longer dated X axis).  Blah blah blah.   Or the opposite when the price went up.

Some of the other members have started making videos of pouring and rooting through the loft, so I thought I would have a stab at it. Vacuum sealing random objects is a great hobby of mine and much like accumulating metals, i now feel it's best left behind closed doors.

I assume they mean vacuum bags, where you take the air out with a Hoover (used for clothing/bedding etc)

In a sturdy chest buried on a desert island with a map to remind you where you left it. 😁
    Sorry I couldn't resist...
On a serious note though avoid any containers or plastic wallet/pages etc. that contain PVC, this can leach out and damage the surface of coins.

It depends on where you keep them. Minted bars, especially highly finished ones, should be protected against scratching, so some kind of cushioning as you say is good.
Keeping them protected from dampness is an idea, some people go to great length (vacuumizing), but I think that putting some silica gel pads into the same compartment should be enough.
I only own poured bars, I'm keeping them in a safety deposit box, wrapped in velvet cloth. I haven't really seen them in years.

Thanks so much again for your advice and support. I have bought some padded postal packets to place them in as well - should be both waterproof and protective?
    Really appreciate your help.

Also add if the bar has a premium then maybe considering a capsules for that too.

This is my own strategy and may differ to others...
Coins kept in tubes as it takes up less space.
Single coins in capsules unless already toned or marked then no point I suppose.
And bare bars that dont have packaging I give them a dry wipe and wrap in a piece of cling film.
All gold I keep in original packaging or capsules.
Try your best to keep silver clear from moisture (a lot of people wear gloves) but in all honesty if it's just bullion then there's no point being too obsessed as even with your best efforts it can still end up with Mark's or toning.
proof coins should never be touched with bare hands though.

Very excited today to receive our first silver bar and a small (very) gold bar. More Silver to come later this week. The question I have please…this will be being stored…what’s the best way to ‘wrap’ the bars?

Echos of above; get TSF membership and scour the forum. If you're after pretty minted bars they're always about, but if you want cast bars too there's been quite a lot on here recently. The SMP bars from Sheffield were being sold in the ~£21-£22 p/oz range.
Also look through the dealer's sites and set stock alerts for what you're after. There are many dealers but to use a very active member here as an example Chards do dealer margin secondary market silver and their stock alert system works well.
Coins are going for a reasonable rate in tubes on the forum sales section as well, obviously it's more outlay in one go but you can net a good deal one month and skip the next as a suggestion. They also mean you can sell on in increments should you need to liquidate some of your holdings quickly for any reason.
If it's pure weight you're after currency silver is often for sale at spot or close to it. A kilo of 50% shillings is harder to store than a kilo of .999 bars but it's an option to consider.
    Enjoy your shiny stuff.
