Why are you asking me so many questions? Why so curious? I did not expect this Spanish Inquisition!

I think that the Iberian lynx is a good option. Most people do not like coins with the face of a king who is not the king of their country, there are even those who do not like the face of the king or queen of their country. The bull is discarded immediately because it has the problem that there are many people in Spain who hate bullfighting and the English drunk of San Miguel beer (very good idea, I think) has the problem that it would be to advertise a specific brand and the other manufacturers would get angry .
The Iberian lynx is a very rare animal on which a lot of money is being spent to preserve it. Even the few lynxes now in Portugal have been reintroduced by the Spanish government.
I like the design, the value of 1.5 euros does not, but the rest yes and I am curious to see if it also likes the rest of the world.

I like it, weird denomination but I find that a fun quirk. Not sure why there's a lynx on it if it's spains first bullion coin, I'd have thought something like the sagrada familia, a monarch, a bull or possibly a brit being sick after 10 pints of San Miguel may be an image more representative of the country?

I don't want to sound negative.
But I would never give a 1 gram bar as a present, certainly not to somebody who is not yet common in the PM's world and also certainly not to somebody who is already active in the PM hobby.
    So why not ?
In the first scenario, a person who is not yet in the PM hobby. A 1gr. bar is so small it looks like you are giving nothing. It also has no appeal and I think that a person will start stacking or collecting because of a 1gr bar is almost zero. And when the person will sell it, it will see what he/ she gets for it and not the massive premium you paid for it because the chance is also almost zero that he/ she will sell it second hand but rather go to the first shop they find and sell it for a bad price.
I would rather give a coin, yes a golden coin is much more expensive but if the price is too high, I would give one or more silver coins. They also have value but much more appeal and a bigger chance that the beauty of the coin will get the person interested in PM's.

The second scenario. You just pay too much premium on such a bar.

    Just my opinion.

Not the worst way to spend your gift cards but for future reference , I'd imagine if you put them on here for a fair trade for silver bullion you would get a closer equivalent to the value of your gift cards.

    The lince dorado

    The lince ibérico.

I think that the FNMT has not option because the Lince Dorado is mexican, not spaniard and because of that, they must to choose the lince ibérico.

    Translation-
What I wanted to say is the nominal value is strange. For that reason it's something a bit rare and curious. Also there are few minted in this first year. The intrinsic value is the same as any ozt of gold.
The name iberian lynx is good. I like the name Golden Lynx but he is a Mexican wrestler.

Sí, es cierto, pero piensa que el valor real es el valor del oro. A mi me preocupa más si se revalorizará con el tiempo esta primera edición.

The FNMT is the official Spanish Royal Mint. There has been controversy over the value of 1.5 euros, the explanation given by the FNMT is that by Spanish law, it has to deliver to the Bank of Spain the same amount in euros that is indicated in each currency it issues. If the coin is worth 100, it gives the Bank of Spain 100 euros, if it is worth 1.5 it gives it 1.5. In this case, the value of the currency is determined by its weight in gold and not by the face value and the FNMT has chosen a very low value to make it clear that it is only a symbolic value. I did not like it, but that was the decision of the FNMT.
Do you know the Money Heist series? In this series, the most watched of its time on Netflix, thieves rob the FNMT. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money_Heist
