I have a scratched coin too that I'm sending back.
 The way I see it is that the mint are charging a huge premium for proof coins so we should expect them to be perfect, if they are scratched then what are we paying for? May as well just buy bullion coins

Cheers, I'd never condone doing this to a small dealer but hey, it's not one.
 I'm in a similar boat, the post has arrived and I have my set but it looks like my payment was cancelled yesterday similar to BackyardBullion. I'm sure they will notice and take the money but I'm not planning to pursue them about it

I'd keep it but if they realise they cocked up then I'd obviously return it. Morally dubious I know and if I was buying from a small independent dealer the answer would be very different, there comes a size of company where I feel the impact on them is so small that my ethics become more negotiable

They are numbered and signed by the artist however I see your point. I think they have potential to be seen as part of the set and an appealing bonus for a future buyer. I think this is especially true if the mint start doing them a lot

That still seems like a massive unforgivable lie if one could own a proof edition simply by becoming a president of a small country (or anything else that also happens to be easier than surviving the queuing system).

Glad you brought it up because it’s given a hint of what they might do with the extra 2022 Proof Sovereigns they’ve held back. 😉

I completely disagree with your points. I firmly believe the limited edition print of the (very likely) last significantly special sovereign of the Queen's reign will very likely appreciate in value over the coming years/decades.

Personally I think the print is a great idea, but should have been an extra with the 5 coin set. Probably me being a tight Scotsman.

Cheers, just grabbed it. I got the 5 coin set and I was kicking myself for not getting the print, I'm sure that as a print on its own it's worthless but down the line it could be great to have with the set if I sell.

I imagine that down the line if a buyer is paying top dollar for a set then this could really be a nice touch for the completist. I'm actually amazed they took so long to sell out, I didn't buy mine as I was in a panic just trying to get the set in the basket and checked out!

Keep it “raw” and if there comes a time to sell, have a look at the price difference between graded or not and decide from there. That’s my intention anyway.

Fair enough, I think it sucks that this loophole existed and only a few got to take advantage of it especially given how random their queue system actually is. 
 On the plus side hopefully it meant some people here got their sets rather than a reseller.
 I don't feel bad either about getting mine buy I suppose when opportunities like this fall in your lap then you are crazy to not take them

Something nobody has talked about is that this is a Jubilee celebration Sovereign...but technically it is not until February next year.
Queenie has not had a great time of it in the last few months and nobody really knows the full extent of her health.
If she were to die before the official Jubilee then this coin would be additionally of interest as a kind of Mint Error in a way....
