  1. The much anticipated (by me) Perth Mint 2024 Lunar Dragon 1 oz gold bullion coin - was offically released by the Perth Mint 8am this morning - last night by our clocks. Currently only available in the UK on pre-order at Chards. Thank you Lawrence 😊 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOiwh7a6Vxs
  2. Maybe I shouldn't have returned it. There's no way it could ever be mistaken for a forgery, no self-respecting Chinese forger would make such a cr*p copy 😄
  3. I would return it as well. One reason why I steer clear of numismatics and stick with bullion. Too much hassle. Even then it's not easy to get good 'uns.
  4. Well done for calling Mr N and expressing your admiration of his design. I bet he really appreciated it 😊 I agree with everything else, apart from... ...I have 1oz gold Britannias from 1987, 2007, 2013, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, and while they're all beautiful in their own way, I have to say that the new '21 and '22 coins are simply stunning in the hand. The best ever 😊
  5. Can I cheat a bit? I don't have a most beautiful round, but the most beautiful silver coin I have is the 1oz and 10oz 2009 Kookaburra: (my phone camera's cr*p so pic is courtesy of Atkinsonsbullion.com)
  6. This is pretty much my strategy too, especially with regard to silver purchases. It's wonderful giving someone who's never held PM's before a gift of a silver coin, and seeing their reaction as they behold it's beauty and weight in their hands. Treasure indeed!
  7. ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA FIDEI DEFENSATRIX Translated from Latin: Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith. https://onlinecoin.club/Info/Legends/2b561228-b8f9-11e5-bfa7-00163e09c6a7/
  8. This is coming, by design, and is the very best reason to buy and hold physical gold. An article from 2012: https://www.conspiracy-cafe.com/apps/blog/show/12947425-hyperbolic-debt-hyperbolic-gold-it-is-upon-us And another from 2007: http://www.321gold.com/editorials/casey/casey031207.html
  9. Central Banks can't even suggest they may raise interests rates; that alone would send stock markets, hooked on easy credit, into a tailspin. The debt cannotbe repaid: default or devaluation. They're going for devaluation.
  10. As soon as I get spare cash I'll be buying more metals, probably gold, not so much silver these days. My timing is cr*p, so I just by when I have spare funds. I first started buying at £300/oz, recently bought at £1295/oz. It's gut wrenching when you make a purchase then watch the price drop, but if you're comfortable with the long-term fundamentals driving the gold price then you just ride the dips out.
  11. If the total current market value of your coins is under $10K then I don't think you have to declare anything when passing through US customs. Just have receipts that prove you are the owner. Similar when flying in to the UK: under £10K so no need to declare anything, just receipts to hand in case you're asked. Edit: the silver eagles are currency and therefore fall under "cash declaration" rules, which start at 10K.
