27carrots reacted to ChrisSilver in Business and Individual seller listings separated
There have been some complaints/issues regarding some business members missusing the bump feature as well as bumping within forum rules but mass bumping multiple topics and taking up a lot of space on the first page continuously. Some potential solutions to help solve this were discussed in the Platinum Lounge.

The easiest current solution was to separate the trade section. Currently this will just be the UK ungraded trade section that the implementation will affect, due to the volume of trade in this section.

The UK trade section has therefore been separated in listings for individuals as well as listings for businesses.

    Trade listings from individuals:

    https://www.thesilverforum.com/forum/13-united-kingdom-ungraded-individual-sellers/

    Trade listings from businesses:

    https://www.thesilverforum.com/forum/156-united-kingdom-ungraded-business-sellers/

Business Sellers can only list topics in the Business section, and Individual in the Individual trade section. Businesses are still able to reply to listings in the individual sellers section, this is useful for replying to 'wanted' listings. Therefore if you are amn individual posting a wanted listing, please continue to post it in the individual sellers trade section.

Please note the forum rules on business accounts, if you are a seller listing a lot of listings you may be classed as a business in the eyes of the forum. Do not risk account closure please contact me or purchase a Business Account. Most of the time you can use common sense to work out if you should be upgrading your account, but if in doubt please private message me and I will see what I an do. Self employed are also counted as Businesses (and not individuals) and would require Business Gold or above. Even if you are not-registered self employed and/or not submitting self assessments to HMRC, this does not mean that you're not a business in the eyes of the forum. If you are in doubt if you should upgrade your account due to volume of sales on the forum then you likely would need to, please contact me or purchase from the store. It is members responsibility to pay any applicable taxes owed.

It might be fun to collect a 1g bar but i wouldn’t get anything bigger. Not even a tenth. If i wanted exposure to palladium, I’d get an etf. The problem is you can’t buy physical when the price drops like a stone and you cant sell when the price spikes. I seem to remember when morezone was selling his stack, he had to sell his palladium 1oz for £200 under spot because spot was high at the time.

I’d say just full sovereigns. You can sell 100 in a day or two, easy. But I bet it would be harder to sell 100 1/4 coins. I think the problem is they are all recent years so no one cares about the dates. If you build up a large number of sovereigns with different years, people will buy all the dates they don’t have.

27carrots reacted to LawrenceChard in What you think of this costly mistake..... A right Gold Can Debarcle
It is worth reading the A.S.A. ruling:
    https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/brewdog-plc-g21-1115533-brewdog-plc.html
It states that adverts described the cans a "solid gold", "24 carat", and worth "£15,000".
A member of our staff happened to have an empty 330ml aluminium can (not Brew Dog) on his desk. It weighed 15 grams.
The specific gravity of gold is 19.32, and that of aluminium is 2.7:
Gold 19.32 Aluminium 2.70 Ratio 7.16 Therefore a similar can in pure gold would weigh about 15 x 7.16 = about 107 grams.
With spot gold currently at £49.39 per gram, this would make the intrinsic value of each can approximately £5,300.
This is substantially less than the £15,000 claimed by Brew Dog, a misleading exaggeration, by a factor of 3,  seemingly not picked up by the A.S.A.
I don't think any reasonable person would expect a solid gold can to be composed of 330 ml of solid gold, rather than a normal hollow can made of gold. Neither would any reasonable person expect the can to just be gold-plated.
330 ml in volume of gold would weigh about 6.4 kgs, which would be worth about $384,000 at today's spot gold price, rather than the $500,000 stated by Brew Dog, although I have done my calculations at current gold prices, rather than look up what they were at the time, but it looks like this was yet another guess, exaggeration, or invention by Brew Dog.
None of the above gives me much confidence about the liquid content of their cans, the purity of the ingredients, or the accuracy of thier labelling, or the rest of their advertising.
Perhaps @HerefordBullyun's opinion of Budweiser could also apply to the yellow liquid contained in Brew Dog cans?
It is also worth noting that the A.S.A. mention two previous rulings against Brew Dog:
