I have this one which thinking of grading or selling, but haven’t graded before. Has some edge knocks.

There are some nice 1973 sets, maybe the South African 1 pound?
Or do what I do, I was born in 1972, another year with no sovereigns, so I stack 1872 which is a common year and easy to get at a decent price.

I would think it's a double florin, in view of closer DEF to bust, also GRATIA is further away from bust.  And for sure, the best way is to measure it.

I've actually ordered a set and am hoping to flip. I'll list for £100,000 on ebay and hope some less seasoned new 'collectors' would pick up this historical set😂

I couldn't find a general 'Australian coin' thread, so I'm posting it here, apologies if it's the wrong thread. Unfortunately when I picked my camera up I discovered my batteries where completely flat so I had to make do with my phone. The glossy nature of it meant reflections where a challenge!

To be honest I’m glad they are changing ALL the designs.
I’m not British, but as a collector, I never did like the broken up shield / arms design. It just felt a bit juvenile to me (like something I may have thought as being a great idea - as a kid for a school project).
I hope the new designs will revert to being 1) standalone and 2) reminiscent of the heraldic designs from before 2008.

The MJ portrait captures a regal demeanour that continues a centuries-long numismatic tradition.
All other portraits fall short, some much more than others.

The worst QE2 effigy was the last Canadian one, it was AWFUL. It looked more like Betty White.

Seriously! The final QEII effigy made her look angry, and this first KCIII effigy makes him look like he’s moping.
If I were either of them, I’d say “Do better!” 

There is no serial number or reference too any present as someone else prev mentioned that i could find ether, the 1oz did arrive in a ribbion style vinyl wrap i do like the 10oz version though

I tend to find I have to call customs when they arrive due to incorrect vat levels. I have paid 20% on silver from US & Europe. Gold tends to be 5% but can be 20% for you to then explain what you ordered & proof of receipts etc. Usually no issues just can be a delay in getting the coins delivered.
Numismatic gold is tricky because as mentioned above if its been used as currency it should be 0% but if its value is bullion. A numismatic coin doesn't really fall into the category but I have often used this way to pay 0%

Picked up two rolls of 1 Lipa coins that are now obsolete in Croatia after they adopted the Euro on the 1st. January. A ten euro cents coin for scale. As there are 100 lipa coins in total here, when they were currency they were worth just 13 euro cents.

They are nice sets, generally very cheap for what they are in my opinion. I have a few - years that are special to me - kids birth etc.
I'm not sure I'd collect them all  as previously mentioned, some ain't very nice, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Also worth considering that they take up a fair amount of real estate. 
As also mentioned, they will never make you rich and you need to be careful not to overpay.

I'm collecting Britannia silver proof set as well as i like specific designs. For price wise, it's stable in past few years, so if u are looking for speculation,it is not a choice.  However, if u plan to keep hold of it, in my opinion Britannia is a good choice.
