The reverse must be outstanding.

I would like modern low mintage hammered gold coin. 
Agree if you have bought a 2oz gold Una at RRP then you are safe but paying almost 10X RRP is another matter.
Everyone over compensated with the 3 Graces, and the Gothic got smacked with the pull back, gutting really as it’s the best coin of the series IMO the RM rollout was far from great.

Una was certainly a great coin. I love it. 
They should be bold and drop the mintages for the next one. Especially if it's a series that goes on for years.
Otherwise it's going to fade into nothingness as a series, with a few standouts.
I liked the gothic crown. I probably have too many. It could have have been much more special. For me, rarity and a good design makes a coin extra special.
I appreciate some people think that availability is a good thing. I didn't buy the first unlimited (until the end of year) charles coin for that reason. 
I dare say I wouldn't have bought an unlimited Una either, but due to the design I may have.

Personally think this series is dead. They have ruined it by increasing the mintages and I suspect interest will quickly die, if it hasn't already. The Gothic Crown was a spectacular failure. People holding the Una should be worried, especially if they paid top dollar. The fact that it is the Una may save it to a certain degree but at the end of the day, it's not a real Una! I can't see it's value holding long term.

It's been a curious release. I bought early and was happy to get the one item I ordered. To think I was rushing so much to check out I almost forgot my password. But now, with stock still available days later it means I will not have to look back on this release with any regrets. I've had plenty of time to second guess whether I should purchase more but also to reflect on what I have bought and relax, without overstretching my finances in the moment and without the dreaded FOMO.
I will say that regardless of how these coins perform on the secondary market I just think it's a great looking coin and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I feel lucky to be in a position to buy gold with everything that's going on for so many at the moment. I think in the end, for me, that's enough.

I really liked the jubilee design, very simple and clean however the memorial trumps it for me. With that said, I'm not sure how well it will work on the smaller coins but I think the double and quintuple will be very special

Yes he has / had.
But the RM gets designers from outside the RM frequently for various coins and ranges.
I’m glad they got JC to do a Sovereign. He’s just so good. Definitely in my opinion becoming one of the great designers / engravers of our time. Him, and John Bergdahl. Imo.

Memorial Sovereign is another masterpiece from Jody Clark. One of the most talented great engravers of our time. When people get the coins in their hands they will realise that. I think the design will look stunning on the proof 5 Sov. Too sad that the RM did not sell the artwork as they did with the Platinum Jubilee.

Always been a fan of JC designs and this time is no different. Not to say TN isn’t goodC I really like it, but personally, I much prefer the hyper detail and more realism style of JC interpretation of the shield. Normally ‘less is more’ - but I think he even gets away with such a complex design without much white space. An achievement in itself. I think JC design will be a big plus point for the future desirability of this coin. If 2014 Brit, QB, are anything to go by - people like his work. Absolute beauty, and can’t wait to see it in hand.

I think today has been a great success. 
I think measuring whether they sell out of 40000+ coins in one day and then saying its a damp squib or failure is not appropriate for the release. 
Remember, if the Royal Mint have sold on average 75% of their stock in the first day then the break down would be over £22 Million in sales.
That is NOT a bad day for any mint or coin dealer. IN A DAY!

If you are buying these just to make some extra cash you will probably fail. Some will flip and some will win. 
There is more to life than cash in the bank.

Always buy the coins you like and you cannot go wrong. The design on this coin is amazing to say the least. One of the most beautiful sovereigns out there designed by the legendary engraver Jody Clark who made the Britannia 2014, the Queens last effigy and the Queens Beasts and Completer coin! People who will miss out and future collectors are going to be looking  for these coins. Mintage numbers are higher than before but not the highest of special reverses. This was not advertised well, actually really badly as they sent an email 1 week before release and that was it. Higher mintages and higher prices all contribute to slow sale, HOWEVER, i must say that all sets were sold out by lunch time and then in the afternoon RM decided to add more (even though they actually wrote “sold out”).
These coins are a part of history, a wonderful design and the first sovereign of the new King. I have no doubt in my mind that these will appreciate very well in the long run. I am glad i could buy the 5-coin set as this design will be a stunner and i am sure will be one of my favourites.

Well, I joined the queue about 8.45, tried some sneaky links for the 4 coin set but didn't work.
Got completely distracted with work, by the time I remembered the 4 coin set was gone.
Luckily just got one from the RM. I really want to see this design as a double. 
It looks great in the photos. Fingers crossed it looks good or better in the flesh.

My money is on an even higher mintage than the gothic crown portrait.
And that my friends means there will be plenty for everyone who really wants one, one way or another.
