Scaffstacker reacted to DrDave in Today I Received.....
And this one is soon to be on its way to @GoldDiggerDave for grading. I have the 1997 Britannia set which i fancy having slabbed and then trying to resist the temptation to sell them on straight away!!

My first Centenario…the weight and colour of it are sensational. I absolutely love it…thank you @Auronum surrounded by a collection of Libs from @paulmoore and @FFposh with a dash of @StBeesSilver to finish things off with a nice little Brit round. Thank you all

Let's stick with the Sovereign theme. @ArgentSmith provided this beautiful Royal Mint Victoria Sovereign Set, which included my missing Jubilee head from 1887, the first year.

Scaffstacker reacted to Leonmarsh in Coin cabinet auction today
Three Cali fractional period 2 souvenir coins sold today
460, 480 and 600
Yet @Scaffstacker can't shift a period one 1856 on here for less money so I suppose auctions are good sometimes to maximise your coins worth

No not on here. Wrong audience on here really for numismatic material, the 'spot' price matters a lot more here.

Scaffstacker reacted to James32 in 1kg Bairds vs. Metalor, Valcambi or Credit Suisse with a certificate
As @Petra says, Baird come sealed and do have a coa attached.
That being said, the coa's from metalor/valacambi etc are in my humble opinion a load of complete trash/nonsense. Anyone ( except me) with half decent computer skills could theoretically print one in 10 mins!
Buy all means do stick to well known brands until you get a feel for things, but don't get caught up in a does/dose not have a COA.
A block of silver is a block of silver and will always be worth what the price on the day dictates.

Does look a bit odd… like they’ve glued two sovereigns together 🤔

2022 Gold Proof Piedfort Sovereign - Photos
I saw these late last week, but had to wait for the photos, particularly one of the milled edges:
Normal reverse shot above, and obverse:
Which was OK, but one with a slight blemish:
Which is disappointing.
The milled edges:
These looked very irregular at first glance, and there is a distinct middle "ridge" which makes it look like two collars have been used, and they don't quite meet up in the middle. This can only be seen on the indents, not on the raised "teeth". I was surprised at this.
Lastly, a boxed shot:
What does everyone think about the strange milled edge?
😎

Scaffstacker reacted to GoldDiggerDave in Newbie introducing myself (and asking if now's a good time to buy gold!)
One was Dr Marten boots 10 years ago they were £89 a pair silver was about £27 inc derailed tax……10 years on my boots are now £169 and silver is still £27. Would have been better off stacking boxes of boots and sticking them on eBay than silver……….oh c Rap I’m gonna upset the silver cult again😂😂😂😂
