Remember way back during early days of the first in the series Una & Lion, it took the 2oz graded PF70 silver to sell at the platinum night big auction, cant remember if it was Heritage or Stacks auction sale in the USA and it got bid up over $10,000+ then the rest is history after that, then everyone seems to want one and happy to bid them up to get one.

The initial re-issue of the Una & Lion was lukewarm reception at best, wasn't an instant sell out , and could be easily purchased 20z silver raw from feebay in the month or so after release.

this it was H and B who had them on sale for £180 too a week or so for them to sell out.      i remember at the time not going for it because of the royal mints milk spotting issues.         Read the first few pages of the una and lion thread and this is a quote

Just buy 14 Sovereigns and hold them for ten years and then sell them. Probably get a similar profit.

They are, I was told this a few days ago by a manager in customer services at RM.

They are waiting for the foam to modify the boxes so that the capsules can’t open in transit.

any reason that we just cant take a trip to wales and pick them up?       i still think  its fishy. the 5 coin sets come with a cloth between the 2 banks of coins and saw a picture somewhere (i think on the forum) that chards put a line of bubble wrap to stop this happening  doing this would save time and get them out

  3. My take on the ‘unexpected delay’ which maybe right maybe not.    The royal mint sent sets for grading and they have been delayed coming back. Else why so many on the population so quickly. The ones what will be sent out won’t have made  PF70 but will be better than PF68.    They have said in the past that coins will be better than 68 else they will be replaced so now they know they are.      Why would the royal mint state the American grading system rather than the British if this wasn’t the case?

  4. What I don’t get is, the royal mint are selling a coin for a fraction of the resale value, I know it’s hype but if they doubled the mintage they would double the turnover.    They are costing the company money by limiting mintage’s     This would take the flippers out and the genuine collectors would carry on collecting.   I admire @Frenchie and @Paul for holding on to the Una when most would sell and now it’s paying off for them as the royal mint have done a good job and making sure they can get the whole collection.    Just wish they did the same with the 2oz and 5oz silver.

I imagine it's in case of any drastic movement in gold spot. Presumably they use special delivery so taking that off to level the price it's already at ~6% under spot. If spot hangs around where it is they'll probably leave it until they've exhausted their allocation for their loss leader deal.

I work it out to be about spot unless you’re taking postage into it

(this works on anything but a sov from a trusted seller is a good bet!)

    Wasn’t it max 300 points/transaction?

Thanks for your responses. I would be very surprised if it were fake, both  because the details to me appear genuine, and as you say I'd expect things from LCC to be genuine with 26k feedback etc.

I have of course offered a refund to the buyer but I think I will maybe approach LCC to see what their opinoin would be

😂😂😂 you might see why they got so much stick a few years ago.           Could have got some new reps now so might be better now
