Wait for £1 on eBay, but on for £1500. See how it goes. If no takers go coin cabinet. I didn’t go for the Una because was worried about a great coin spotting. If I was holding a pf70 I’d be selling because one spot could knock £600 off. And being royal mint it probably will arrive sooner or later

During the Bairds order process VAT only gets added once you decide to take delivery instead of storage.
I didn’t realise that, but just looked and it states...
As with silver, VAT on platinum, palladium and rhodium is only charged upon taking delivery of your order. If you store your purchase with us, you will not be charged VAT unless delivery takes place.
before you put in email address before you purchase. To be fair it’s not over clear but the site is 15 years out of date all over

To be precise not a lot of big business give prices ex vat. B2B businesses give prices ex vat as is entirely logical and sensible and legal.
B2C businesses never do because it's misleading and illegal for obvious reasons. The issue is with the B2C arm of Baird's. Its well known to be a huge company which makes it even more surprising they are trying this cheap trick rather than being up front.
Most stuff I buy for my business will be ev vat so that’s what I’m used to. Did you take it up with bairds and ask them why they do it like this?
-
Baird and co is one of the largest pm refiners in the country with a turnover of over £1bn if memory serves me right. A lot of big business gives prices ex vat. I’m surprised the actually deal with the general public because it must be a small part of their turnover

50 pesos at 5% ? Is that good considering the high premiums on bullion these days ?
No. Sure if you put a wanted on the sales section you could get gold cheaper

Are any companies that are short of physical gold offering a higher buying price? @LawrenceChard have you known this to happen? Or will it happen?
-
was watching bloomberg (a first for me) so dont know anything about them. if they are biased or independent. chap on saying that because of the Russia v Saudi oil price war that Russia are going to have (or already have) to sell 50 tons of the 150 tones of gold the bought last year to make up the short fall and this will knock $50 of the gold price

@LawrenceChard great to see someone as high profile as you on the silver forum. we used to have a lizzie from chards post regularly which was great and sure you picked up a fair bit of business from her. Especially when you 'found' some great gold pandas in the back of the vault. would be good to see some chards silver forum deals arrive because we aew all in the same boat.

anyone notice that HGM have dropped what they pay for 1oz gold coins this morning. not sure if this is a mistake, trying to make advantage of sellers or they thing it will fall as quick as it went up

I will get the discussion back on topic @ChrisSilver.
November 2018 I managed to complete a backdate 10 x 1oz Gold Queens Beast Lions cost me £1250 per coin. At the time I was doubting if spot Gold ever get to £1250 an ounce and if I made the right decision. Looking at the spot price and premiums on these coin I would not be in position to back date them now....
Sorry to say @Abyss that’s still over spot think you paid £5 too much 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Trouble is now you are committed and will cost you £50 odd more than the loin for the new nag!!!!!!! Well done on having the balls to do it and I’m excited to see the 100 Oz stack is hen finished

we saw Elton John named on Gazette page for a new coin comes out this year, so you can maybe expect your big names of UK music Beatles, Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin
It depends if the bands have to give the go ahead for the coins, if they do I’m not sure some of those bands need the money or crave the attention to put their names to it

Indeed, all lies! I just emailed them stating this
I’ve had troubles with Atkinson’s before. Don’t thinks it’s good enough. Fist they will say they are bullion coins. then say if you get back to us and pay postage both ways we will replace. Years ago they were on here but disappeared after getting some stick about some items

If you put his name in search box sure you will find a few people have had problems...... about 2 years ago by memory. Something about father and son but can’t remember
-
@ShaolinStacker you did well to buy that amount of gold in cash. A few weeks ago they were saying that in Germany they were only letting people spend 2000€ in each transaction

As a farmer I’ve always been tight, but I’m coming to the realisation that sometimes spending is a good thing, the kids who seem like they were only born last year are actually half way to moving out!!! I know can go to the beach for free or nice walks but seeing their faces when we go to a game of football or when we go to a theme park is worth more than saving a few pounds. My gran used to say ‘spend it when you need to, I’ve got more money than I know what to do with but nothing to spend it on’. But she still didn’t part with any to us!!!!!!!

This was my last purchase from royal mint bullion. Think it was the 5th one they sent before I had one that wasn’t gouged, bent or rubbed. Isn’t that nice of a coin really
