Another page of Kennedy’s completed. 12 received today from an eBay sale. Even with postage and tax the total worked out at just under £9 a coin. The premium is high but this is a long haul hold stack and if these are ever sold I am hopeful to get more than £9 a coin anyway!

  2. Thanks

This is my latest buy a 1944 dated Egyptian 2 Piastres coin featuring King Farouk and made from .500 silver.
This coin replaced the earlier round coin that was made of a higher silver content of .833, the new coin was still minted at the Royal London Mint in England, not sure why they chose a hexagonal shape this time, but it means I have to get some more capsules to fit it in.
This coin was made for one year only in 1944, all latest official sources (Krause/NGC etc) claim that only 32,000 coins were made, making it the rarest of all my coins so far, independent sources claim it was 32 million, I am believing the official accounts until they say otherwise, partly because King Farouk was really starting to losing favour with his populace at this time.

Its a shame its hard to show lustre on the coins without using artificial light or videoing it.

I have shown it compared to the previous 1937 dated type, 2 Piastres I bought a few weeks ago.

Just out of curiosity, I did a bit of Google mining. If you want REALLY old gold for sale Click here.  44BC Should do it!!
The only snag is the 587% premium. (Oh ... and add postage)... I bet it holds its value though.🤑

Thanks for the mention. The Queens Beast coins have been very popular and I think they are the nicest bullion coin the Royal Mint has produced.
    Kind regards

Just looked on Google Maps...  It's a mere 1800miles to Estonia!!  Does anyone on TSF ever do a road-trip to collect for a bunch of different people at once?  Could it be worth it with enough bought and stored in a 2-month period?
A bit of good weather, windowns down,  and bombing through Europe!  9 international boarders each way, a boot full of bullion and Brexit under our belts... what could possibly go wrong??🤔
  9. Thanks

As I understand it that's one of the 'loopholes' to buying metal at the VAT rate of the country in question. If you instruct a courier to pick up the metal (as opposed to the dealer shipping it to you themselves) the metal is purchased in that country and the sale is completed there, it's in effect the same as if you were buying it there and driving it back yourself. What some of the dealers do though is arrange the delivery for you. So the delivery contract is between you and the courier but the dealer sorts it out.
That's from memory from the last time I looked into this prior to a Silver to Go purchase back in March so feel free to point out an error 😉

2010 Silver Proof 1oz Kangaroo at Sunset
This gem is my tenth of twelve needed for a complete set and is the last of the three such proof designs. It is the rarest "Sunset" with just 3,500 of the 5,000 limit actually minted.
The condition is pretty-much immaculate and has been captured extremely professionally by @CadmiumGreen without the need to open the capsule. The detailing on the kangaroo itself is exquisite.

Might be related to COVID19, because couriers can't have recipients sign for delivery, which is an insurance risk.

Lovely sunset roo and fabulous photos. 🇦🇺
I believe the 2009 F12 proof sunset roo is the lowest actual mintage, followed by the carded 2009 F12 Unc roo, these are generally the most sought after coins in auctions
edit: I stand corrected! After many checks seems (drumroll) we can't be sure which one it is with the lowest mintage - RAM data is lacking! However, it's not 2009 - that much is now certain 😅
