Arrived today.
(Oh yes! It’s) The Great Pretender! 😂, as well as a beautiful condition Chile 100 Pesos and a nice Proof Sovereign Three Coin Set.
Three different compositions of Gold, .986; .9167 & .900 loveliness.
At first glance, its improbable that the 4 Ducats is the lightest of these big boys and the Cien Pesos the heaviest 🙃

Back from a trip to the coin shop. I think I did fairly well today.
Top row: Maria Theresa thaler restrike, 1938 UK Shilling, 1916 Tunisia 2 Francs, 1944 S US for the Philippines 50 centavos (I placed into a flip as it appears to have the 1907-1921 obverse. Sadly, it also appears to have been amateurishly cleaned)
Bottom row is all 0.800 fine Canadian: 1964 dime, 1957 quarter, 1940 quarter, 1951 quarter, 1943 quarter, and 1958 quarter. A couple of the quarters have some really nice rainbow toning.

First up, a 1952 Lebanese 50 Piastre. I noticed a circulated one on ebay for a few quid, so obviously an hour or two later I had paid many times over spot for this one, which seems to only have a couple of bag marks. It features my favourite tree on it, the Cedar of Lebanon, which also appears on their flag (Cedrus libani for you gardening enthusiasts).
Next is 4 boxes of Montreal Olympic silver stamps. There were meant to be 5 of these, but someone at Royal Mail decided to open the parcel, help themselves to a box, and tape it back up! Thankfully it was a duplicate of one of the others.
Two sets were made by Johnson Matthey & Mallory, two were made by the Jacques Cartier mint, which is difficult to find any info on. I think there is another JM set out there to collect. Each stamp is 15.5g of 999 silver, and three of the boxes have the actual postage stamps, which I forgot to take a photo of.

I have been after one of these for ages after seeing so many on here, there is plenty around in good condition due to the high mintages I think, but I always seemed to get outbid, now officially the largest coin in my stack (until I get one of my Christmas presents that is).
This style of Mexican 1 Peso coin came out in 1920, millions were minted most years until 1945, all these coins were struck from .720 silver, one thing I really like is the fact that the purity is on the coin itself much like a modern bullion coin.
Around the sides of the coin is the writing INDEPENDENCIA Y LIBERTAD (Independence and liberty), I can see now why so many collectors love these and the later Libertads, its one of my favourites now.
Production for this coin was 43,920,000 in 1933 alone.
Tried to show some of the lustre on this coin, which this has lots.

I am picking them up raw or graded, although I am preferring to pick them up already graded lately, I intend on having them graded in the future. I only have 4 graded ones, and 55 raw.
I didn't do a thread, not sure why, I wish I did, but I have documented my progress on youtube from the start, 15 videos on the collection so far, I might be doing a full Morgan collection video soon.

Just imagine those lucky enough to bag one digit on!
Seriously, not seen any press about the 007 ones, do wonder if they got issued, held back? Must be worth a strong premium.
