I’m pretty curious about this coin.

Does anyone know what heraldic device or emblem this might represent?

Do you know if this is part of a series?  Or, what is it celebrating??  I presume all the varieties, gold, silver and BU, will not be denominated £1000.

No they have different denominations. I just copied one of the descriptions of the obverse.

I’m trying to figure out if this is a series or a one-off. The design of the lion and eagle surrounded by a laurel wreath seems like it could be a heraldic device, but my knowledge is limited, and a basic Google search does not bring up anything.

@westminstrel could this be part of the Tudor Beasts series?

Don’t think so because of what @James32 says.

Maybe Great Britain as the Lion and USA as the Eagle?

That is a great deduction and a strong possibility. 😎

Maybe the coat of arms for some decendent of the new monarch?  Lots of nice examples out there but I’m not sure how they relate

That’s initially what I thought too, but @foinikas makes a good point. ☝🏽

I intend buying the definitive set at some point, but right now I’m very intrigued about this Lion and Eagle coin. What does it relate to? Stand-alone release? US-UK collaboration? Part of some new series? So many questions in my mind.

Sounds like it came from some fantasy novel, but I can't think of one that features these two particular animals.

The lion-the witch and the eagle? Great book.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip
