Are you sorting the stock? I mean, does the Glasgow spoon go for resale or melt? Is there a collector base? Interesting angle.

Everything gets cleaned with the goddards, and any provincial silver, (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Chester, Exeter, Newcastle, York), will be put to one side. There is always a small premium on provincial silver and certain makers can command a big premium.

Thanks. What a cool idea. I'd enjoy learning about this, hallmarks etc.

Are you selling on eBay or is there a collector base? No specifics required!

Not selling at the moment. Will keep stacking, or in this case keep filling the cutlery drawers, for many more years yet.

Best place to learn about hallmarks is

and there is a very interesting forum at  http://www.925-1000.com/forum/index.php

How many did you buy?

I never buy any more than 10 fractions of the same coin as they devastate my  1 oz stack average . 1/4 oz Libertads  approx £28 an 0z delivered.

Well, well, well. I do love the education system we have today. About a week ago, I spotted a 1981 sovereign on an ebay auction, spelled "soveriegn". Starting bid of £195, So I bid that amount, thinking oh well someone else will spot it, but you never know.

But they didn't... :)

Another cheapie to add to the stack.

It's been a good few days for me. ;)

Two days ago actually - and after 2 years in this game my first purchase from HGM! A bullion gold South African 2 Rand. Happened to see them available mid-morning for £203 and I have learned from so many Forum members to move fast on that site when you see what you like!

Anyone else get one? There were 5 available. Hope it's in good shape; nice to compare to the other coins of that size (quarter ounce).

I'm now going on a silver and gold sabbatical for 6 months. Need to save for a holiday and sort of up my other investments, just in case those eggs fall out of the theoretical basket.

HOWEVER, if and when any ebay or nectar deals come up I will maximise them and buy the minimum needed to use up those deals.

So taking that into consideration, with the 500 nectar point bonus for spending over £35, I just bought 130g of sterling silver forks for £42.69, which equates to £10.99 ozt. (although with the 539 nectar points worth £2.70, the topcashback 1.1% worth 47p, and the credit card cashback of 0.5% worth 21p, that brings the whole thing down to an equivalent of £10.17 ozt )

It's easy this investment lark isn't it. ;)

A gold 2016 1oz Angel - Isle of Man

They pretty much strike them to order at morning fix +8%, can't be bought anywhere else that i can see right now apart from the mint. Though mintage is unlimited I think they'll be very low because they only order a large amount of blanks upon receipt of bank transfer (if some dealer was to place a large order for example), usually they just have a handful to limit exposure.

Thats because you have bought most of them!

Now all you have to do is sell them at the new higher price.  Good luck!

I will keep them for a few years and I will see what happens with the price.

Quite a few of the fractional Libertads have quite low mintages so they are worth a punt.

I have also bought a few 2015 1/2oz Libertads (Mintage 16000),they can still be picked up cheap in Germany.

Today I bought this on eBay. It was lots of cash and I used £65 of nectar vouchers and the proceeds from one 3G ms70 panda the rest I just discovered is my birthday present from Mrs Numi for next week.

Great color. It is details but say AU55 details honey color with small gouge at the bottom. In a details slab it's worth up to $1,900 and $3000 or more with no problems.

May have overstated the value but it was still a good deal I think and most of these are in very bad condition.
