The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Still curious why you think it needs "conserving"?

There is a small amount of copper spotting and they do a good job with that type of stuff

Apparently not. NGC can do it so it must be OK.

At the end of the day re: cleaning. If any undesirable stuff can be removed without altering/affecting what's left behind, there's nothing wrong with it.

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

so is that area to the right of the temple a red "splodge"?

The older gold pandas were prone to copper red spots. NCS offer a 'conserve' service that can remove them and other such blemishes. It's not cheap, but worthwhile on the right coin :)

On the topic of grading Pandas

When it comes to selling, as there are  a lot fakes, does it help to have the more expensive variations certified authentic by a coin grading company?

^ All though I know it's preferred by some to have them in OMP

Absolutely, especially with the rarer pandas.

My first half sovereign shield came in from HGM.

The reverse has tons of luster. I was expecting a young head but this is my first jubilee head.

what's happened to the 'a' in brit'a'nniarum ?

is that a garnished shield?

HH

It is served without a sprig of parsley therefore ungarnished

It looks like the top of the A has been lost somehow, probably during the making of the die. Or simply a damaged punch.

Yes, a garnished shield. All the shield halves have that design, as opposed to the shield surrounded with laurel leaves on the full sovereign.

I received 10x1oz Isle of Man Angels this morning from GoldSilver.BE and they are stunners!

They could be a great semi numi play as they are 100000 mintage which is quite low by modern standards considering the enormous amounts of coins pumped out nowadays by the various mints around the world.

The only criticism was the tracking as it was almost non-existent.

It was last tracked in Belgium on the 18th May at 2.50 a.m then it arrived at my house via Yodel this morning.
