This takes us to the schizophrenic way in which HMRC deals with precious metal coins.
The Britannia is a £2 coin but the spot price of the silver is currently £15.86.
If we are calling it a legal tender coin then logically the value as a legal tender coin is £2.
Cash, including coins must be declared if you are moving more than £10 000 across the border. So that would be 5000 Britannia coins or 10 monster boxes.
Now we know silver and gold coins metamorphoses between legal tender coins and metal in the blink of an eye and at the whim of HMRC but by some people's interpretation of the rules you could move 10 monster boxes (minus one coin to be sure) across the border without declaring.
Taking cash in and out of Great Britain
You must declare cash of £10,000 or more to UK customs if you’re carrying it between Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and a country outside the UK.

There is a shocking amount of impropriety and downright criminality going on on this forum. I am literally shaking.

It's illegal to destroy UK coins which are or have been legal tender in the UK since decimalisation.
    Coinage Act 1971
S10. Restrictions on melting or breaking of metal coins.
    (1) No person shall, except under the authority of a licence granted by the Treasury, melt down or break up any metal coin which is for the time being current in the United Kingdom or which, having been current there, has at any time after 16th May 1969 ceased to be so.
This would apply in the UK - you could take said coins to another jurisdiction and melt them down. There is the same sort of law in the US and i suspect most jurisdictions.
i sent BYB some Somali Elephants to melt down to make some hearts - he did this on video - it is on youtube. No-one has been knocking on my door and i doubt the Somali authorities are chasing BYB.

Looking at the selling section of the forum i see recent lots that have gone up - there is a member who put up some Britannias "25 x 2022 1oz Silver Brittanias £530 + postage." - another was "2013 silver Britannias mint sealed tube £450 delivered"
These seem a decent price. You are really going to struggle to get decent coins for under £20/oz. You can get old circulation 50% coins for less - certainly less than £20 and you might find some more collectible coins in a lot but in general they aren't much collected, hence there isn't much premium.

Don't get ASE's. They used to be reasonably priced in the past but since Silver Squeeze the prices edged up and up. There are shortages of ASE so premiums are high. Now they are too much.
i would stick with whatever silver coins are good value - so no specific coin just whatever you see that is good value.
i would also get some half and full sovereigns. Plenty come up on the forum selling section. Since Brexit in the UK you can't easily access the cheaper silver coins in Europe so unless you see well priced silver on TSF i would now switch over to gold.

To be precise, 84 (zolotniks) means 875/1000 silver fineness.
The town mark is hard to decipher but perhaps it may be Moscow - St. George on the horse?
No "kokoshnik" (face) mark would mean the item is from before 1896 marking reform.
And finally, "KF" is an intriguing maker's mark because it was used by none other than Karl Fabergé - most known for his famous Faberge eggs.

But, just keep in mind that his mark would probably be also the most copied one. I am no expert on his work and have no idea if this ring is genuine. The symbol of a double-headed eagle on a cross is used on many various items in Russia and maybe it even has some meaning to it (but this I'm just guessing).

This is true - indeed we are a sad crew - we pretend we have precious metal when in fact we are penniless paupers. i have lost count of the number of tragic boating accidents i have suffered, it has given me PTSD.

If you look at the tarnish marks on the bar, i do think they are different ones. We were led to believe these were one off's but it looks like he has at least 2 of them.
