Home from work to open this cracking 1874 die number 50 half sovereign from @MikeSol 

... a 1975 soviet Chervonetz (Червонец) or red gold from @Quicksand005

which allows me to create a little triplet or mini date run. I now must wonder if my 1977 was one of the first struck as it has no discernible lustre or is mimicking the modern bullion sovereign look. 

I've received a couple of proof half sovereigns over the past week or so:
1) a 2018 with the "65" mint mark (N.B. the full sovereign version does not have the streamer on the helmet), and
2) a 1999.

Mix bag of stuff today. Interesting one is my first Platinum 1/10 Brit and a 9ct ingot. Also the Yale looks good in gold.

Today I received an SA George V small head, on the right. For comparison, a normal head on the left. I think the difference is easiest to tell by the ears and the deeper strike of the hair. The reverse is completely different, if you look closely.

Just received the 1996, 1997 and 1998 proof sovereigns. Bought these from an Australian auction. They look great! 

The strike on the day sovereign for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria. Very happy to have picked this up from the Royal Mint.

This wasn’t received today or even this year, but looking through some bullion I spotted this, think it’s a decent MS grade! Only a few small bag marks. Pity it’s not a very rare year
