Jvw reacted to send2georgie in Hi! Newbie from Singapore!
Hello from Singapore.
Was an occasional visitor and now a newly joined member!
My handle is send2georgie but most just refer to me as send or S2G.
I love collecting/stacking coins/precious metals and have been doing this for awhile now. However I have only recently started to expand out onto online forums, as well as online platforms like youtube. I am hoping to build new relationships with all in the precious metals collecting community.
There are some of you I have already gotten to know from our youtube channels, so hopefully this forum will be another channel to expand our interactions.
Thank-you for reading this message.
My love and respect to you all!

Hello, I'm Paul, a guy in his 40's living in Belgium. A country that sucks most of the time except for precious metals. I came along this forum by watching the video's of BackyardBullion. I hope to start selling some of my silver coins I bought years and years ago because my future goals is to have a more standardized collection/ stack with only a few special pieces.
Hope to learn a lot on this forum.

Jvw reacted to Dazlenk in Got the gold fever, need help! lol
Hi All
Greetings from Wales, I'm a total beginner as far as collecting/stacking goes. For some reason I bought some small gold bars from Bullion by Post (probably not the best place to buy from!) a few weeks ago. I got a Pamp 1g and 5g, once they arrived I suddenly got the bug! I've now got a Nadir 1 oz silver bar, 2 x 2021 silver Britannia's a 2021 1 oz silver Krugerrand and a 2021 1 oz silver Panda. My Mrs thinks I've gone a bit nuts lol. I haven't really got a clue what I'm doing so joined this forum in the hopes of learning how to collect and stack properly without getting ripped off. I originally thought of it as an investment but really like the look of the coins I've got so wouldn't mind collecting too, but as I said I know f~*$ all! Any advice along the way would be gratefully received. Cheers
P.S Are proof coins/sets worth buying from an investment point of view or are they just for collectors who like them?

Jvw reacted to frugalman in Hello forum members
Hi forum members. I've had an interest in numismatic coins and precious metals (mainly antique silver) for many years. Buying from jumbles, car boot sales, junk shops when i could, then from ebay when it came along.
I have been into bullion stacking since about 2014 because I liked the idea of owning some of the .999 silver content Britannia's ready for a "sure thing" mega return after the horrendous price plummet of the time (having been unaware of their existence in 2013).
Still stacking So filling some of my time with some like minded people, and perhaps doing some trade or deals sometime in the future.
Take a quick look at this new 2022 Brit. that escaped R.M. quality control. Great detailed strike but Its so off center struck it has completely ruined the milled edge. I know that its only bullion but Its practically an error/reject. If I didn't know what I was looking at I would think it to be a bit iffy. Hope they get their act together soon.
Thank you for letting me join,
Much love, F.

Jvw reacted to BullionBuyerUK in Forum newbie!
Hi all, I'm James from Wiltshire in the UK. I have signed up to the silver forum as recently I've started to expand my collection of gold and silver bullion coins. I don't have a huge collection that some people on here do, but everyone has to start somewhere.
Heard about the forum form different YouTube videos I've watched, so thought I'd sign up so I can gain some knowledge on my coins I all ready have and future purchases.
Looking forward to chatting with you all,
James

A nice 2nd Coin Cabinet arrival that solves a storage/ display problem.
The Cabinet has a drawer for coin paraphernalia, the remainder of the them fitted out with Inserts that accept Crowns, which was its intended purpose.
As a nice bonus, the drawers are also deep enough to hold 10 Slabs per drawer 😃 and my Peter Nichols Cabinet with my historic Silver sits nicely up on top 👍

Jvw reacted to Foster88 in A trip to Australia, a rock laden with gold and a memory from my childhood
Here it is.
I’ve spoken about this ‘rock’ on a few occasions on the forum and yesterday I found it!! I knew it was here somewhere and I found it. I don’t think I’ve seen it for 3-4 years.
So what is it?
It has travelled half way around the world, it was found in Australia and belonged to my grandfather. My grandparents went to visit family in Perth some time in early 80’s. As a child I was fascinated by it, I remember on many occasions looking at it. To me as a child it just looked like a rock with ‘sparkly bits’. It was always on a shelf in the kitchen, I apparently used to always stand on a chair to look at the ‘sparkly rock.
Many, many years later I visited my grandparents and my grandad said, as I was leaving, “I’ve got something to give you” as he handed me this rock. I declined it and he said “No you must keep it, it’s from our holiday in Australia in the 80’s”. He insisted I took it and reminded me that I was, in his words, obsessed with looking at it as a child. Maybe that’s when the seed was sown. I like sparkly bits maybe, no, that doesn’t sound right.
So here it is. My grandad passed away around four years after he gave this rock to me and I still miss him and his stories of The Second World War.
I thought I’d share it here with you all.
For me it has such huge sentimental value. I guess and this is a guess, it has maybe a few grams of gold in it.
Would I smash it open? No.
Do I wonder what it’s gold content is? Yes.
But the memories are more important to me and I intend, curiosity aside, to pass it onto the next generation. I am, afterall, only the guardian of this rock.
My grandad means much more to me than a rock, of course, but I intend to pass this onto the next generation as it was handed to me. Intact and a mystery as to just how much gold this rock holds. For all I know it might have a large nugget inside.
(excuse the bad photos, taken with the flash on)
